Julian Assange secretly fathered two children inside Ecuadorian embassy, partner reveals in bid for his release from Belmarsh amid coronavirus fears

Article in the Independent though reported elsewhere www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/julian-assange-children-ecuadorian-embassy-coronavirus-belmarsh-stella-morris-a9461251.html

Was alerted to this via facebook posts and I dont know what makes my blood boil more.

That this man has a family in Australia.

That he (and she) they should have children together in the circumstances (ie he is someone who is wanted for questioning relating to allegations of sexual abuse, that he broke his bail conditions, and ... )

That they (and it seesm the liberal press) think that by revealing these secret children it will make it more heart wrenching that being in prison means he might get the virus. What an obnoxious advantage of self regard and privilege to think you can use this arguement for your self but not bother to consider all the other prionsers this is also true for.

As someone said on facebook, can you imagine if this was a white working class couple let alone one from BME community who got press coverage for a similar story. They would be absolutely hounded in both the print press and the online press.

There seem to be no depths to which this self important w**ker will go.

I don't think this woman is a solicitor. I think she may have been doing legal research. She seems to have a variety of names Stella Morris / Stella Moris (or Morris) - Smith Robertson and even Sara Gonzalez Devant.

She's not currently listed on the Law Society as being a practicing solicitor (which is of course not proof that she wasn't in the past) but she has no professional Google history that I can find. Even the most unexceptional of solicitors will have something.

That's weird. Even the flying lawyer has more of a professional footprint than that.

I see from a google search that it says "Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe."

I think (if it isn't part of the fiction) that grew up in South Africa which is where she qualified as a solicitor / lawyer.

Though she seems to be have presented here in the UK as a researcher and writer and been published by Oxford University Refugee Studies. (as Sara Gonzalez Devant)

One rumour has it that the poor cat who was forced into confinement with Assange in the Embassy is now living with her.

Nothing weird or dodgy about someone who uses multiple aliases at all Hmm

StrangeLookingParasite · 14/04/2020 23:23

That lrb article - he's just as skin-crawlingly revolting as I expected. I vaguely used to know someone who knew him, and they were narcissistic birds of a feather.

^agreed Strange.

justdontatme thanks for sharing.

my brother actually met Assange as part of that article (he’s not Andrew o’Hagan). Says he was awful.
