Casual reference to women as "vessels"

Occurred on gogglebox, the two guys sitting together the one with the curly brown shoulder length hair (stephen/Daniel) They were discussing the young surrogate in the "nest" when he stated, .."it would be like asking Waynetta to be your vessel" it was the casualness, of this type of language entering the mainstream that really concerned me. Furthermore it also has undertones of young, working class girls as not "good enough" even to be a "vessel" is it worth writing to the BBC as it's worrying for this to be entering mainstream.

Misogyny is such an aberration and the older I get, the more I understand Germaine Greer's quote.

Where does it come from and why is it so prevalent?
Is it rooted in psychology?

Is vessel used as a term in the Handmaid's Tale?

Reducing women to just their capacity to have kids is proper dehumanising yeah. Imagine being this obsessed with like, wombs being the defining feature of a woman.

AbsintheFriends reported the comment about Meghan Markles "rancid vagina" by these two people on gogglebox, that it was "representative of the viewing public"
