Richard Firth suspended from Green Party

Richard Firth, who made the covert recording of the woman sharing very personal information, posted about 'petrifying some terfs' and chanted 'I'd rather be a pervert than a terf', has been suspended from the Green Party for a year and banned from holding office for a further two years. It's not known if the reason for his suspension is the same or different to the above complaints.

There are many in the GPEW who don't accept the gaslighting being doled out by some of the Trans Allies in power and infinitely more than those who do accept and promote it. We are trying our best as all who do so elsewhere, to overturn this lunacy.

I hope that more people within The Green Party will stand up with those working so hard.

The Veritas 'Challenors' report findings about Safeguarding should be a point where responsible minded adults can step forward & support those who've refused to be silenced/intimidated.

Additionally to the Safeguarding issues, it seems something was/is amiss in how some members aquired considerable power & influence for their own agendas. The combination of these concerns of course is potentially very serious for any organisation or political party.

What tf is happening in The Green Party? Do they seriously think that this is a vote-winner?
I'd love to vote for them now and did so in the past, but definitely wouldn't now.

I seriously considered joining the Party about a year or so ago but after reading their stance on TWAW, I thought better of it.

Surely the Party leaders don't actually believe this crap, but it looks even worse if they are career politicians who are trying to elevate their standing within the Party, gain trans-allies and cash in on their (woeful lack of understanding) of the views held by the overwhelming majority of the population, that gender is a fey social construct while sex is factual and immutable.

Anyone have an update for this at all? I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Green Party investigation into the complaints about RF and OS. Will it be a whitewash, with the two nasty misogynists writing their own outcome while the panel sits around drinking an organic vino collapso (via Zoom of course), or will there be an independent, honest and objective investigation that will uncover the truth about what's going on inside that political Party?
Unfortunately, my money is on the former as the Party leaders will be pushing for a complete exoneration. They have probably installed people with similar views at the helm of every section of the Green Party too. There's no hope at all for them, which also means that the planet is much more fucked too.
It looks as though they are more interested in Identity Politics as a vote-winner (good luck with that!) than green issues, which is now more important than ever.

@OhHolyJesus Firth and Sutton were part of a push to get all candidates for the Equality & Diversity committee chairs last yr to commit to pro-trans positions. Most did, but the eventual winning candidates did not. Both found the request to be offensive, in terms of favouring one group over others.

Thanks Cajun, good to have that insight and to hear that some inside the GP still have common sense.

Shocking state of leadership. Allegations of rather qeuestinable conduct by the party leadership too. As a lifelong GP voter* this is sad to see. Sad, but not surprising anymore.

(*until the non-woman and FGM-redefinition nonsense)

Thanks for that link @GreenieFingers.

That story of bouncing the manifesto through the Regional Council is eye-opening. Flowers to Dee Searle

The manifesto was finalised by the group that had removed the climate policies. Green Party Regional Council (which was the body with official sign-off responsibilities) was given around 24 hours to approve an 88-page document. This enabled the leadership to insert favoured commitments (such as transgender people being able to change their legal gender based on self-identification, which is not Green Party policy) and weaken inconvenient ones.

The trans activists within the GPEW are the most manipulative, scheming and treacherous people you can imagine. The gender critical greens need as much support as possible on this and I really can't underestimate how important this is.
Elections to many positions and roles within the GPEW will be held soon, so it will be appreciated if everyone can vote for the right people, which does not include the current leaders / deputy. This information needs to be shared as widely as possible.

It's about time that the Greens understood a bit about biology and women's rights as well as the dictionary.

The idiocy here is incredible, although I have it on reasonable (fingers crossed) authority that Cleo is less taken in by the gender-woo than the others. Amelia is a complete lost cause and the men are clowns.

It's funny isn't it as otherwise the whole climate change thing is errr...based on science.

However there is hope. If you join the Green Party you can vote in all the decent people.

@Campervan69 - is Andrea Carey Fuller up for the same vacant position as the others?

It would be interesting to have a list of the vacancies and the candidates.

You might even convince me to re-join if I thought there was a chance for my vote to be effective and the Greens to get back to some sort of normality. There is no Planet B and climate emergency issues are going to be rising to the fore increasingly over the next months and years. I left because of the whole gender identity takeover. I'd only been in the Greens for a year and was very disillusioned. It was crazy reading about non-men and bizarre statements about people being more than their biology, but not agreeing that it's only our biology that makes us men or women.

I would help the Greens only if I believed the core members really don't support the Woke Leadership.

If your political movement is predicated on understanding and being respectful of the earth, nature and natural rhythms, then you must surely recognise the reality of biology. As human beings we may well have spent several hundreds of years trying to transcend biology; conquer and control the earth, but when it really comes down to it we are still creatures of earth - like all of the others.

GreenieFingers · 21/07/2020 12:21

The overwhelming majority of GPEW members are not beguiled by trans activism. Obviously, they would care about the lives and welfare of others, whether GPEW members or not. However they are also completely fed up with the bludgeoning tactics used by the TRAs within GPEW, to force their sole agenda through.
The invasion is not by people who give a damn about the environment or the future of the plant. Nor do they care about women and our rights. Quite the opposite, in fact.
We need help with this from all directions and this support needs to include calling out the GPEW leadership and other Woke infiltrators. For a political party to base itself in the fundamental principles of kindness and caring, both for people and the environment, the leadership is determined to allow some appalling behaviour in the name of 'kindness' towards trans people (not that this is a negative in itself), all directed at the gender critical membership who are silenced and stamped out where possible.
We really do understand science, biology and the importance of language. It is a small but vocal and powerful minority who are wiping this out of the GPEW.
I hope that Cleo will clarify her position on this and that she will be brave enough to risk the backlash by stating the fact that sex is immutable and women are adult human females.
Andrea is very definitely on the side of common sense.
The other three are exactly as you can hear for yourselves.
All support to our collective elbow is very welcome.

What a great speech. It's hard for me to understand how anyone could think that it was hate speech, it's quite the opposite!
No-one is saying they can't be whoever they want to be, if you are 'trans' then thats who you are, not a woman but a trans-woman. That's not hate, or an opinion, that's fact

As Greenie says the Greens need help is holding back the tide, many have left and won't return. If anyone can sign up for £3 a month, vote and then cancel the DD if it doesn't go right in the elections.

Given my political homelessness it's worth a try.

I've just signed up solely to vote. I may stay, depending on the outcome.

If you're not in employment (I'm retired) or are a student it's £6.00 for annual membership.
