I don’t always agree with them but I always feel better informed for thinking about the points you make. I hope that doesn’t sound ungracious. I’m just really trying to convey that it is so liberating to be outside an echo chamber

I'm 73 and live in Washington State, so friends and family have been talking about this and trying to support one another from a distance for weeks.
I cry over something trivial every day now.

No real idea of what goes on outside the confines of FWR but as far as I'm concerned Barracker, you're an inspiration

I read the thread last night - in the middle of the night - insomnia ,and it was unpleasant.
Some posters almost seemed excited by the opportunity to ‘put you right’. I’m sorry you had to put up with that and I’m truly out of my mind with the cognitive dissonance it causes in my brain when I see people behave in a way that is so obviously fucking nasty - yet they were probably quoting ‘be kind’ shite last week.
My dd is a vegan - there was a thread about veganism this week I thought she might be interested. Dd handed me back the phone after 2 minutes- ‘no thanks mum, how can you read that stuff, what a bunch of nasty horrible people’. Dd is 16 and swims with the sharks’ every day and she was appalled.
The behaviour on mumsnet has become truly appalling and I don’t think we regulars even realize how bad the tone is now as it seems to have happened gradually.
