How is that not a threat?

It looks like it was retweeted and called out in the last day hence the interest

Although it's a few months I reported it for violence as I do any tweets threatening violence however old, doubt twitter will uphold it but no harm reporting

Thanks I really was not trying to stir anything. I haven't seen the Morning Star cartoon. I understand how frustrating it is, I am there very often. Sorry if I upset you too

Public confidence in the police is at an all time low. They are failing to protect the public against recidivist criminals. But they are zealously checking the thinking of dissidents on Twitter. Why are they waving the flag of any political lobby group? Why are they acting as an enforcer for a lobby group?

Because for some bloody ridiculous reason we keep being told Twitter matters, because it's managed to leech into the internet nervous system and keep itself alive by symbiotic clickbait articles on Twitter mobs sending everyone round in circles, so that government bodies and various authorities think they have to wave their credentials on there. And because they've invested in this kind of multi coloured virtue display, with no bloody thought about how a fist appears, even if it is in pretty colours, they think that it counter-balances not doing all the other stuff they're supposed to do.

Twitter is cheap, basically. Cheap, shit, and needing to be binned off so that it can be dismissed along with all the nonces and creeps who currently reside there.

Dances, you've not upset me, worry not. I probably need a break from all this, self care is important, and my personal life has enough crap in it to drown a whale right now, so, priorities. Welcome out of lurkdom, btw, and dig in. We're nowhere near done yet.

TorkTorkBam · 29/02/2020 18:28

The police have left it up there for four months. Nobody listened to the original complaints. Nobody thought, oh shit, that's bad, we'd better apologise, take it down and give some training to the copper who posted it. Four months makes it worse not better.

FloralBunting · 29/02/2020 18:34

Nothing makes it better. There is no better.

I think that is a really interesting point. Twitter does not represent public opinion. It is a self referential echo chamber which amplifies the shoutiest proponents of the new orthodoxy. When Owen Jones and his fan club can't process why the Conservatives got an 80 seat majority when the breathless Tweeters were predicting a Corbyn landslide? That is a reality gap. Rebecca LB et al with their Stalinist purges are determined to make it a chasm.

Very good point, @TorkTorkBam!
