Anybody on the horizon. I’m hoping the cavalry is just around the corner.

Sorry, but this is Mumsnet, so diversionary questioning is kinda mandatory. Why no cereal?

To answer your question, the cavalry looks like shanks’ pony right now. But I live in hope. I’ve spent all day sharing the WP pledges on various platforms.

Is there anyone (who knows what a woman is) willing to lead the charge?

Xanthangum · 13/02/2020 20:09

The Whigs still exist: whigs.uk/about-us/

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 13/02/2020 20:13

Why no cereal?

There might be Cereal, if other people say they want Cereal i'm happy to claim i do to. After all Cereal is eaten by a percentage of people, and that percentage is my focus here.

GeordieTerf · 13/02/2020 20:16

The left wing don't want us. Every left leaning party has made it loud and clear that they want us to fuck off. I refuse to curl up in to the fetal position and cry. Fuck then, I'm off.

Michelleoftheresistance · 13/02/2020 20:18

I'm concerned by your withheld cereal issues.

However yes, a new Labour movement (or us starting one here) sounds about flipping time, bring it on.

Joisanofthedales · 13/02/2020 20:21

I need crunchy nut cornflakes but am happy if there's no weetabix

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 13/02/2020 20:30

Are you banned from cereal with hot milk then?

ArranUpsideDown · 13/02/2020 20:33

Where do you stand on the banana? (But not the skin, obviously - that way lies slippage.)

Evenquieterlife33 · 13/02/2020 20:38

It’s just weetabix. I’m ok.
Yep no lefties need us to win anything it seems. Tbh any turn around from them now would just be hollow. I’m glad they have purged us. I feel like I’ve just been watching Labour out of some gory fascination for a while now. Where are the new Labour Women at. Does anybody know anything? Any glimmer of hope. ( I really should be working right now.)

Banana all good. Hot milk bring it on. But once I weetabix I can’t stop. It’s self imposed.

Tartyflette · 13/02/2020 20:43

I'd quite like some bran flakes, with a sliced banana. Cold milk.
Am holding on so I can vote in the Leadership/Deputy Leadership elections.
Not for Angela, obvs,

Lollygaggles · 13/02/2020 20:46

I like porridge with my politics, so won't mind the lack of Weetabix. I'm easily flustered and quick to anger, so I don't think I'd make a great leader. I know what a woman is though.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/02/2020 21:00

Better than jackasses, anyway.

I'm not a left winger but I can offer the new Labour for Women movement a slogan:

PUSH.....

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 13/02/2020 21:00

Is there any chance WPUK will grow and grow into a political force?

Mockersisrightasusual · 13/02/2020 21:11

A party of Ellen Wilkinson, Jennie Lee, Barbara Castle, Shirley Williams, Mo Mowlam and Ann Cryer would suit me.

What are the odds?

NotAssigned · 13/02/2020 21:31

No cereal here. But if wrong daily gets in there'll be a fair few labour MPs thinking much harder about splitting. To be fair they have been thinking about it since Corbyn was elected leader. Two failed elections and a Corbyn continuation candidate might just be the last straw. Perhaps they'll then be free to admit what a woman is.

we can hope! FPFW and ForWomen Scotland also sterling people.

When I first read this, I thought it was asking about the WEP for a moment.... and thought, sadly, the cereal has more chance.

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 13/02/2020 21:51

Michelle have you seen Sophie Walker's tweet about this?

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 13/02/2020 21:57

Screenshot.

For anyone who doesn't know "Toni" is a transwoman and was the one who complained and pushed to get Heather Brunskell Evans kicked out of WEP for saying she had concerns about the medical transitioning of children.

TwistedEyeOfHorus · 13/02/2020 22:01

SDP.... they don't have anything up on the website yet, but I contacted them and asked about sex- based rights. They're going to be looking at it over the next few weeks, and are committed to preserving spaces and no GRA reforms.

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/02/2020 22:09

Right I've got 3 cases of red wine, and 6 bottles of Gin keep me away from walls as I might just bash my head against one.
And if I start I might not stop . . . .

Evenquieterlife33 · 13/02/2020 22:19

@Redshoe 🤣🤣💪

ArranUpsideDown · 13/02/2020 22:21

Sophie Walker's lack of leadership and the lack of due process around the handling of Brunskell-Evans is why I left WEP having been a founding member and supporter.

Nothing that I've seen since has persuaded me that my action was premature.

Poota · 13/02/2020 22:27

There is no left wing. The IdPol cultists currently squatting in the tattered remnants of the Labour party wouldn't know class analysis if it clobbered them round the petulant, selfish chops.

I am 100% all for a new Labour movement, one that understand class and structural analysis, and frankly, puts the liberation of the female sex as a strong pillar of it's materialist policy base.

Everyone can bring their own tea and biccies to share. How about an en masse sign up to a specific political party and do a Momentum style takeover, but in a positive sense? If those clunking dullards can manage to hold sway, why the hell shouldn't a large cohort of women with plenty of gumption do the same?

Doobigetta · 13/02/2020 23:09

I got really excited about the SDP for a moment there. And then read, happy to proceed with a hard Brexit, in favour of introducing ID cards, immigration policies to consider the impact of immigrants having more children on our culture...
