Period pants

Hello, I wanted to tell anyone who is still using tampons and sanitary towels/pads about period pants. I think they're a total game changer for women and for the environment. They look and feel like normal pants, but with a slightly thicker lining. You can get various absorbency in some brands. You don't need a tampon/towel or anything as back up. They will last all day or all night. Rinse them out when you take them off then you can machine wash them with your other washing.
I've uploaded a video to YouTube to show how mine coped with 10 hours of heavy flow (content warning: menstrual blood, obviously)

Just seen Modibodi have 9.1% cashback through Quidco and 10% off when you join their newsletter so that's good. Think I'll give it a go.

I use period pants. I investigated a few years ago as needed a solution for disabled dd1 which meant she could be independent in the bathroom, and wasn’t prepared to use her as a guinea pig!

I’m a total convert. So comfortable (yes, thicker than normal pants, but I wouldn’t say bulky I’ve likened then to wearing swimwear - feels more than normal pants, but just as comfortable iyswim)

I have very heavy periods - emptying mooncup every hour for first few days, lots of clots) and thinx pants last half a day comfortably with no leaks. So do the new style cheeky wipes sport style.

I either change at lunchtime where possible, or use in conjunction with either a mooncup or washable pads if I won’t be able to change.

I haven’t bought any disposable sanpro for either me or eldest dd for over 3 years now (even with a mooncup I needed pads overnight before), and younger dd is keen to try pants/washable pads when she needs them (anytime soon).

I would say that cheeky wipes are just as good as thinx, and much cheaper (about £10 a pair, I think, rather than £28 or so)

I bung mine in with general washing, and dry on a heated towel rail.

I’d like to try period pants but I am very sensitive and the fabric content makes me suspect that they are a quick route to thrush or BV.
