It was a good event. I couldn't see any protesters outside the venue. It was great to have no hassle while entering or leaving.
Hopefully the videos will be up for viewing soon.
Speakers were great, especially Rhona Hotchkiss. Some of the comments from the audience were very moving, especially the ones from the detransitioner and abuse survivor. It was very brave for both of them to speak up the way they did. I found it hard to keep my eyes dry! Heartfelt concern and pain from the woman involved in children's services and how they are under intense lobbying and worried to speak up publicly for fear of reprisals. So much respect for all these women doing what they can in their own way to push back against the trans ideological juggernaut.
Good to see male allies too. Lots of claps and cheers at the announcement of LGB Alliance being launched soon (Saturday I think? The Scottish division anyway).
An interesting point mentioned by one of the panel, might have been the FWS member. She talked to a policewoman who was providing security at one of the FWS events last year and got onto the topic of female officers having to search males because of all these self-id rules being pushed through.
Male staff clearly don't want to search females and female staff obviously don't want to search males, but these sorts of orders are being pushed from above. Policewoman said senior female staff will carry out the searches on males that claim to be women, because they don't want to let the junior female recruits have to deal with such things.
Clearly no woman should have to be dealing with such uncomfortable situations as part of their work, but I was struck by the staff understanding the implications of these 'inclusive' orders and senior female staff doing what they could to take the pressure off from junior female staff.
The trans lobby and their shouty activists have tried very hard to paint a picture of everyone having voluntarily jumped on this brave, new , progressive ship and it's simply a handful of bitter old women and right-wing extremists moaning about nothing.
The reality is very different once you start talking to people and listening to their stories and interactions with the general public. There is a lot of pressure from the top of various organisations and institutions. Everyday people know something isn't right, but might feel isolated or intimidated to speak up, yet there are signs of women and men doing what they can to mitigate these sweeping transgressions of boundaries and safeguards.
There's still lots to do in building awareness and support among the public, but it takes a few brave women and men to lead the way and others will start to find their voice. Thanks to all those who have tirelessly worked in resisting this ideology and putting their careers and public reputations on the line.
