Quentin Van Meter, MD, FCP - The terrible fraud of 'transgender medicine'

I found this video and thought that others might find it interesting.

At the Teens4Truth Conference, Ft. Worth, TX, Nov. 18, 2017. A physician who was in the Johns Hopkins Univ. Hospital group where "transgender medicine" was developed describes the lies, bad medicine, and fraud behind that movement. Quentin Van Meter, MD, FCP is a pediatric endocrinologist. He is a Fellow of the American College of Pediatricians and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

Please note that the speaker is attending an event that claims it is "countering the LGBT agenda".

Regardless I think that this speaker deserves to be heard as he has significant first hand professional experience of the history and development of transgender medicine in the 20th century.

The conservative, pro-family gcampaignign group hosting the video can be found here

I agree with some aspects of their activism but not with others.

I will leave it to readers to sort the wheat from the chaff in the video but be warned - there is some truly shocking and potentially traumatising information about abuses associated with the growth and development of the transgender medicine movement at John Hopkins Uni Hospital

I think we've been told before to be more than cautious about this doctor and his beliefs because of his associations.

Yes, and we mustn’t read the daily mail either....

Exactly why I included information about his alliances

However, having listened to over half of the presentation I think that readers might learn a lot from it.

I pay attention to a range of activist movements, some of whom I support wholly, some partially, some I support but am opposed to some elements of and some I oppose completely.

Apart from anything else it is important to gain at least a basic understanding of all the different groups with dogs in any particular fight, their apparent alliances and hostilities and, if possible, their covert alliances and hostilities.

Understanding the different positions of various "tribes" is an important aspect of understanding the issue IMO, especially when tribes agree on some issues but are opposed on others.

The MassResistance activist group campaigns about many issues that the posters here campaign about and are in agreement on many issues, but are far apart on issues of LGB rights.

articles on their website include

MassResistance reports: Drag Queen Story Hours

Fighting Graphic Sex Ed & Porn in Schools & Libraries

Boston Children's Hospital ghoulish "gender change" clinic for children
This was also the model for the rest of the country!

Assault on children in the schools

all of which are of interest to readers here

likely to be less well received is, for example,

'Homo-fascism' - attacks against citizens, churches, businesses

Personally I find it valuable to try to be informed from all perspectives, at least as much as possible, so that I can understand the nature of the massive cultural and social changes that are taking place.

Shame about 'weaving your faith' into reasons for objections about affirming transgenderism

Ereshkigal · 16/01/2020 16:53

It really is worth watching, despite the associations. It lays out very clearly how trans medical organisations like WPATH evolved and how they operate.

It is possible to read material and judge it for oneself - without having to be 'contaminated' by other ideas you don't necessarily agree with.

Either way, it is worth listening to even for when he talks of studies and stats from them. Regardless of his beliefs that is some damning information he has, people he is citing include Zucker who produced the desisting figure we often use (and whose study was large enough and comprehensive enough to produce effective figures) and the Swedish study which showed an increase in suicidal thought and behaviour following the affirmation process demonstrating it is frequently ineffective.

As the OP says it is perfectly possible to sort out what is belief and what is factual in this and it is worth watching for the historical aspect and the overview of the studies.

I think where we have to be careful with sources if they are unreliable or if, using them, would get us into sterile arguments about other aspects of their belief system. But it is a very interesting video.

This was posted here the other day, but I am reposting because of its relevance
