Gender (sex) bias at work

Are there any threads on this already? I couldn't see any. I'm in a male dominated sector that promotes equal opportunities but I wonder whether I'm on the receiving end of second generation gender bias.

There are no senior females in my department. I've been there a very long time and have only ever had shinning reviews and positive comments however, it just feels the white middle aged men get ahead faster. I am not even sure I want to go any further as I just feel very worn down but the posturing for power I get impacted by or caught up in.

Anyone have experience of this, and how can you tell whether it is, or it is just you not being good enough? I do work flexibly to pick up child from school.

Ok, this is a gender bias thread- which not disputing. Been there and had similar experience. But why the insertion of “white” into the mix? Is there a racism element to this as well?

OP
My experience is that anything that takes you out of the workplace and into flexible working will incur a penalty for promotions, pay raises and so on. Motherhood especially.
However, what you describe is sounds worse than that. I’m not sure if it’s gender bias or if Alan is a back stabbing scum bag. Probably both tbh. The politics can get very toxic in some offices. It sounds like Alan is trying to take over your job and manage you out of your job.
Document everything. Take copies of emails home. Do this quietly.
I think there is a constructive dismissal brewing because Alan and now your managers manager are acting like you do not exist.
