I would like to start giving more to one or two charities that truly promote feminism and women's rights - both refuges/aid but also gender critical.

I really want it to be one that makes a difference but don't have any idea where to start.

Please could I have suggestions?

The Vancouver one that Oger tried to get shut down is GC (hence the attacks) is still going but even if you find something local you can call to check.

There have been some good suggestions on other threads like this recently so worth having a look as I found some good ideas from here before.

I donate to The Eve Appeal, which is a gynaecological cancer charity. They refer to women throughout and use plain language. Solidly pro-women, focusing on women’s healthcare issues, and kept out of the whole gender debate - it’s completely irrelevant to what they do really.

The Freedom Project is a solidly gender critical domestic violence charity as well providing courses for women (and men - separately) on abuse. Their twitter feed takes no shit!

I’ve also supported My Body Back Project in the past, who do fantastic work supporting women long term after sexual violence including running cervical smear clinics for women who have experienced abuse. Again they refer to women throughout. On their FAQ page there is a trans question where they say their clinical services are suitable for ‘anyone with a cervix’ (fair enough, doesn’t matter how you identify, your biology is still vulnerable) but slightly concerningly that their social events are open to ‘transwomen without a cervix who have experienced sexual violence’ which I’m less certain of as this could clearly present a barrier to some women attending, and I don’t think they welcome men to these sessions. But the work they do with smear clinics is so awesome I haven’t discounted them completely. I also have donated to Bloody Good Period and The Cup Effect despite the former using phrases like “people with a period” and acting as if they’re allergic to the word ‘woman’ at times.... they do do fantastic work for women, however they capitulate to the gender police.

That and throw the odd £10-20 at various crowdfund projects for legal cases, LGB Alliance, Detrans Advocacy Network etc.

Forwomen.scot is very good and is currently fundraising to help them raise awareness about the GRA reforms consultation in Scotland (self ID proposal plus lowering the age for self ID to 16).

As Cwenthryth has said - I also contribute the the Eve Appeal for their clear focus on women's gynae cancers - unashamedly focussing on women's bodies and cancer with no signs of hatred of women's bodies or the language that describes us. eveappeal.org.uk/

I also support TransgenderTrend. www.transgendertrend.com/

They focus on children's safeguarding and welfare and their materials support all children, challenging the toxic gaslighting / grooming materials pouring into schools from groups run predominantly by men with an agenda.

The Centre for Women's Justice do fantastic work bringing public law challenges when the state fails women. They also provide legal training to the VAWG sector.

NIA is domestic abuse charity run by Karen I gala Smith. Solidly gender critical

Oh I forgot Womankind, who support women’s movements & grassroots projects internationally, and also Women’s Environmental Network which campaigns from an eco-feminist perspective.

Sexequality · 01/01/2020 17:35

Not charities, but there are various crowdjustice and crowd finders for legal actions that need support which will go some way to helping women as a whole.

In addition to the Centre for Women’s Justice and Vancouver Rape Relief, look at Southall Black Sisters.
