Period product recommendations

Here's a thread to recommend period products from companies who are comfortable using words like "female" , "girls" and "women" in relation to periods.

This is a transinclusive thread. Females of any gender are included!

Always gave me the push to buy reusable sanwear, Eco Lily. It's been a good push too, much more comfortable and noticed the difference not using something jammed full of chemicals.

Great recommendation, thank you! I've looked at their site. Plenty of use of "women" and "girls". Looks like they do amazing work.to improve access to period products for girls in developing countries. I'm pregnant right now but will.keep them in mind for the future and for my girls when they get their periods.

I buy cloth sanitary pads from this lovely lady.
She also makes knickers .
For WOMEN AND GIRLS !!!
She's on Facebook, shop and group .
Also on Etsy
Very highly recommended woman owned small business.
Great products.
I also use a moon cup but I'm not sure how woke they are now.
It needs replacing probably, it's a few years old although it does the job very well.

I use washable pads. Got a horrible infection from a mooncup and wouldn't risk it again.

EcoFemme make lovely pads, v comfy and for every one you purchase one goes to a woman or girl in India who needs it.

Like neither pads (too bulky) nor mooncups (genuinely, tried to love them - but I'm a klutz: too messy).

ob don't look too horrid, going by their FAQs: they use the word "woman" consistently where applicable as well as other sensible sounding/biologically corrwct terminology. Such as "vagina" over and over again. Also refreshingly body-positive in their approach (applicators are BS because vaginas aren't straight tubes).

To be brutally honest: I mainly use them because I a) happen to agree, from a oractical perspective, with their stance on applicators being inherently unpractical for insertion and b) this also means they happen to neatly fit into a jean pocket.

Happy that I'm thus far failing to spot any ideologically based reasons to not use a favourite product any longer, to be brutally honest. I'm so used to them that I might just put up with them being for "front holes" at some point.

Just posted on the other thread, but DD has cups and a microwave steriliser/case from these people, who seem to know that their products are for women, if you look at the blog pages:

They also do period pants and reusable pads, but I can't answer for how good they are as DD hasn't tried them.

Me Luna uses women, girls, and female lots on their website, although I noticed one use of the word menstruator.

Wuka and Modibodi also use the words women and girls freely. (Modibodi is more comfortable but Wuka is easier to wash as they don't have to go in the delicate cycle)

MrsWooster · 16/12/2019 21:44

Lunette not only talk about ‘menstruators’ but promote binding.

Voice0fReason · 16/12/2019 22:48

Modibodi is the brand I am tempted by at the moment. I noticed they advertise to women.

RagHagShop on Etsy, brilliant gothy and radfem designs

Honour Your Flow reusable pads are lovely, soft, and come in a wide variety of sizes and absorbencies.

Feminazgul · 18/12/2019 19:00

I have some modibodi. The seamfree ones are really comfortable but you have to be really careful when washing. Mine got put in the dryer accidentally and now the seam are 'ungluing'. They still work ok overnight though and I've got the normal ones for daytime use.
