South Carolina spelling out the reality of banning abortion in $$$

A South Carolina senator is fighting back against abortion bans with a bill demanding anti abortionists put their money where their mouth is and compensate women who are denied the choice and forced to give birth. Leave aside the infuriating "pregnant people" and it's a great bill. No chance of being enacted obviously but it's designed as a reality check and force a more open conversation.

Yes!

This is brilliant

"People who commission surrogates pay that surrogate to carry a fetus to term and to give birth to a child. So why should South Carolina be permitted to force its citizens to act as surrogates for the state without compensating them?"

It's great but kind of depressing that people need to point out that this is the alternative to having the option to abort.

Banned after 6 weeks' pregnancy, which is approx 4 weeks after conception I assume, and therefore before most(?) women would even know they are pregnant.

Indeed popehilarious
I suppose they know but don't care. If it has to be publicly debated that may help concentrate tiny minds?

That's amazing.

Fantastic.

The points seem obvious. And they are- but are being conveniently ignored. I think that’s why they need saying out loud. Repeatedly. Until they’re accepted and acknowledged as the actual consequences of forced birth.
