Does anyone know which women's refuges wish to stay single sex?

I know that some allow transwomen, and I know that some of that is to do with funding. Have any come out and said they wish to stay single sex?

May be wise to avoid listing them here as there are those who would regard this as an action plan list.

I take your point. I was wondering if any had actually come out and made a positive statement (in which case they probably are prepared for the flack) rather than those which may want to stay safely on the sidelines.

I know of some, but as pp says I wouldn’t list them. Ru ok?

Thank you I am fine :). I had some policy type questions. I won't ask for PMs as obviously you don't know me, but I may PM someone that doesn't name change so often with my credentials and ask if they could be a letterbox?

Threads like this are so depressing. To think that we can't name women's organisations because of the creeps and misogynists seeking to take them over or shut them down Sad

Yes, it's disgusting - specially in 21st century Britain. Somewhere like Afghanistan this must be pretty normal.

I donate to the Vancouver centre but wanted to donate somewhere closer home on a regular basis too.

Underground secret female provision is the way forward. We've become the thing that dare not speak its name.

I thought there was a move by the nia project to get written legal advice about this, in the absence of Women's Aid having done it themselves.

There are 2 issues which have arisen out of funding pressures (and the increasing number of workers / volunteers recently graduated from university with all their woke ideas ingrained).

I think both Women's Aid and Rape Crisis have left it to individual centres to take a decision. It would be so much better if both of these organisations took a stand.

re donating locally, have a look at the refuge or rape crisis nearest to you. I have certainly seen on some website of women service providers statement about providing same sex provision under the EA excemption.

The first is that women's refuges are being asked to support men (because men dont have the same ability as women to set up their own projects and so expect women to provide services).

The second is the issue of trans women. I suspect despite all the online discussion many local councils probably aren't aware of this as an issue, and / or the trustees / mc members of a refuge will be there for so called professional advice, eg finances, and will also not have any idea of the issue.

Thanks everyone. If anyone does know a charity/women’s refuge organisation that actively wants to campaign on this issue, I would be v grateful if you could suggest a way we could get in touch safely. I have been speaking to another organisation that wants to help campaign in this area but as it isn’t the core of their remit, they want to band together with others.

Many thanks

Would it work for any of the policy questions to be discussed on here keeping posters anonymous to their MN handle and without naming any particular refuge?
