Are we having an influx of I-think-I'm-GC-but-I-want-to-be-nice-but-I'm-so-confused...'naïve' posters?

I've noticed more genderists, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing - it's good to debate in public.

QuantumEntanglement · 30/11/2019 16:22

(By the way, I know we're not allowed to troll-hunt, but are we allowed to sea-lion hunt?)

I think you’re ok to hunt sea lions as long as you don’t use clubs...or is that baby seals?

Hmm. Seems both species are pinnipeds. Who knew? Yeah. You’re probably ok as long as you don’t use clubs like I said before.

nauticant · 30/11/2019 19:31

They're sure putting the effort in over the past few days, and particularly today.

Why is that? Newsnight and the two programmes on Radio 4? The failure of the manifestos to do the expected TWAW #nodebate?

XXcstatic · 30/11/2019 19:39

The failure of the manifestos to do the expected TWAW #nodebate?

Labour's one must have them worried, as must the push-back in the SNP - both parties of the super-woke.

PerrysWinkle · 30/11/2019 20:00

Cages are being rattled. These subjects are being discussed in more mainstream media and in courts of law. People are becoming braver at speaking the truth and asking questions. And as the whole ideology is built on shaky foundations, it won’t take much shoving until it falls over.

nauticant · 30/11/2019 20:04

Ahh, of course. I'd forgotten that also the court cases were ongoing and how attempts to explain gender identity ideology in a forum of facts, evidence, and logical argument failed miserably.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 30/11/2019 20:53

Goodness, they are busy little bees! How fun!

Thethiniceofanewday · 30/11/2019 22:15

I thought ‘long live the penis’ was a joke or a paraphrase but have just found the post. Absolutely jaw dropping!

popehilarious · 30/11/2019 22:20

It soon becomes obvious when they don't attempt to answer basic questions. Even if you're unsure you'd try and work out your stance rather than never ever engage with the question.
Things like "what do you believe 'trans' is?"
"Why do we have sex-segregated spaces?"

or refusal to read the Break It Down thread.

nauticant · 30/11/2019 22:27

If someone believes something important, and have thought it through and are confident it's right, then they'll engage with others.

If some pretends at believing something but cant' even convince themselves, then they'll not engage.

Creepster · 30/11/2019 22:30

It is harder to pretend it is not a war on women when the former LGB and Feminist organizations declare women's right to be anti trans.
More than anything though, I think it is the mixed sex toilets and changing rooms in schools as well as the media coverage that has increased interest.
I agree that unless they come with misogyny blazing from the off it is best to assume ignorance rather than malice.
The disingenuous will still call you names and accuse you of being patronizing but that's just another day ending in Y.

Germ1360 · 30/11/2019 22:45

What do they hope to achieve? Is it simply time wasting? Pissing us off? Oh yeah, I know: screen shots.

JellySlice · 01/12/2019 00:41

Oho! A red flag phrase has appeared on the Fair Cop thread: I seek information and clarification.

(How embarrassing- I posted this on the Fair Cop thread by mistake. Told you I was naïve. Blush)

I think a lot of those posters are in internet bubbles of information and believe in the common misconception that the mumsnetters are a homogenous group of women of a certain age, educational level and political view. They, therefore, underestimate us gravely.

So for those sea lions: Mumsnetters range from teenagers to senior citizens, from unemployed to over-employed and stay at home mums. We have people with vocational education, academics and people who have just started studying or started their vocational training. We have people who claim that they hardly have any education at all and we also have people who tell us they have Ph.Ds. All different races are represented here and we have people from all parts of the political spectrum. I haven't really seen any threads about religion, but I expect that we have people from all the different religions as well.

namechanger6060 · 01/12/2019 09:57

Yes I thought this.

I think it's to pick off /ban a few more people.

namechanger6060 · 01/12/2019 09:58

As well as screen shots.

Coinciding with the Make more noise event.

(Sorry I've nchanged and forgot to change back)

KatvonHostileExtremist · 01/12/2019 11:07

Lady Bunbury help guide me from rising to the annoying wee plonkers

Coldwatershock · 01/12/2019 15:27

I've just realised! It's the excess exclamation marks!
