I can barely read it as text is so small, but for those with good eyesight, someone at FiLia has compiled and compared party pledges re women's rights - recently updated to include SNP

filia.org.uk/news/2019/11/26/2019-manifesto-pledges-regarding-womens-rights-issues

(I think you can go full screen but not sure you can download it. If anyone knows can you let me know.)

On desktop: Go full-screen on the article then hover over the screen - there is a down-arrow download link top left of the screen (left side as you look at it). It is only visible when you hover over the screen. That will download a PDF version that you can then zoom to read.

Thank you so muchMoleSmokes - my only excuse for being so unobservant was I got so close to the screen to read the text I never thought to look to left or right.

Certainly makes it much easier to read.

Will now have to set time aside to read it properly.

The pledges are useless if they also support self ID and say that trans women are women.
Also, manifestos are not legally binding.

Look at their actions towards women now, not their pie in the sky promises.

I think we all know that the main political parties are going down the Self ID route. This is why we need to keep on campaigning and can be grateful for the work of groups like WPUK and others.

But in the meantime whoever next become the Government will be taking decisions that impact on women's lives as workers, mothers, carers and so on.

And its important to be aware of party policies (eg whilst sympathising with WASPI women that has been policy for all parties for some decades) and the damage they do to women's lives. There are many women who may think self ID is terrible but are finding it so hard to just survive that they dont have the privilege of time to do anything.

And everybody knows they are not legally binding but again by being aware of what they promise and what they do gives us information about how trustworthy they are.

I am by the way a serial non voter as I live in a safe seat and my vote is meaningless, but if I was in a marginal seat I would be grateful for the information someone else has taken the time to compile.

And their manifestos are their actions now. The demonstrate, along with self ID, what understanding they have if any of policies that impact on women living in austerity Britain.
