The So I’ve been to the Science Museum today - to the new Medicine Galleries (opened last week).
I’m my state of more raised awareness that this boad has given me I am finding myself questioning everything: so your opinions please? They have obviously thought hard and made sure that every section of the gallery has its fair share of women scientists - DNA for example has Rosalind Franklin featured heavily, and indeed I think in every section they had made sure to include women pioneers and scientists - so I am very happy about that (and it’s a brilliant gallery).
But
I am wondering about the language - and use of the word ‘gender’ in place of ‘sex’. Here are two examples - what do you think? I think they’ve been timid at the very least.
I looked up the use of both words to refresh myself on Wikipedia here
