I was looking for a podcast to listen to and found this on the BBC sounds app. I thought I'd give it a listen as I do like to try and make sure that I understand things before taking a strong view on them. I'm pretty sure of my opinion on non-binary but anyway that is why I chose to listen.
The reason I'm posting is I'm listening to episode one and I can't believe what I've just heard. The two presenters of the podcast have just visited a museum in Brighton - the museum of transology(sp?). And they're talking to a curator who is trans who said (within the context of discussing gender and children) "I think ultimately gender will be like getting a haircut... noone will even think about it". The same person about 30 seconds later is showing them an exhibition - "these are my boobs in a jar".
The three people all seem to find this amusing. I think it's horrifying. Do they want young girls to make the decision of having healthy breasts removed as easily as they'd decide to get a haircut? It's made me feel sad. I don't start threads often, I just found it upsetting.
Not sure this will work but this is the podcast:
