Can someone explain this to me? So the Met website says:
A hate incident is any incident which the victim, or anyone else, thinks is based on someone’s prejudice towards them because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or because they are transgender.
So by these rules surely all of these sentences are hate incidents:
- "Believing in God is stupid"
- "Homosexuality is against the will of God"
- "Muslims who promote Sharia law are misogynists"
- "Only Christians are going to heaven, anyone who believes in a different religion is a sinner and going to hell"
Have I got this right?
But "kill the terfs" doesn't count as apparently it's not a hate crime if it's against women.
