I hope the link works; it's to one on fb.

Really great responses to a very hard grilling!

She's brilliant.

NotBadConsidering · 17/11/2019 08:40

Hundreds of supportive comments too.

HarrietTheFly · 17/11/2019 08:44

Thanks for sharing

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 17/11/2019 08:44

It's great when they allow women to speak. Because it's very hard to disagree with anything we are actually saying. All it does is make people think (yeah, she's right).

TiredofthisBS · 17/11/2019 08:48

She was awesome. I particularly liked when she shut the interviewer down when he called her cisgender.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 17/11/2019 08:53

She was amazing here, despite an interviewer who clearly has no idea.

Flywheel · 17/11/2019 08:56

Facebook comments are mainly positive

PassingIntoTheWest · 17/11/2019 09:26

Oh, she's great - really clear and no nonsense.

FFSFFSFFS · 17/11/2019 09:27

Well that was a bad day at the office for that bloke. She was FAB.

midcenturylegs · 17/11/2019 10:11

She was bloody brilliant.
He asked all the contentious questions so in his own way he was good (for us!) too.

NeurotrashWarrior · 17/11/2019 10:11

I genuinely think the guy has never heard of chromosomes!

She was wonderful. Calm, factual, on point. This is why they're desperate to ban women like her from speaking - it's very hard to argue with what she's saying. The interviewer was awful - aggressive and badly informed - but she wiped the floor with him.

PassingIntoTheWest · 17/11/2019 14:10

I didn't think that the interviewer was aggressive, just ill informed. And I think him being ill informed was actually a good thing, as it meant that he asked the questions that informed members of the public would have been thinking.

When he said Oh, but people can change sex 😄. It makes you wonder what people think sex actually is.

FFSFFSFFS · 17/11/2019 14:17

I think that the interviewer was reading the notes he'd been given realising as he said them out loud "what now?" you want me to say "what now"

BouquetOfRoses · 17/11/2019 14:22

Well done SmileStar

Socrates11 · 17/11/2019 14:23

Absolute Queen, Meghan Murphy rocks! "I'm glad you brought that up", when chap said surely women's sports should include men 😂 Thoughtful, clear responses to the nonsense we're having to contend with.

Met a dear friend at weekend not seen her for a couple of years. A friend, where DF lives now, has a 'daughter' instead of a son & it's been difficult to watch. We discussed many of the things raised in this interview and I'm pleased to say critical thought won the day. A solid friendship continues.

The GC argument is consistent, strong and evidence based.

niceberg · 17/11/2019 14:35

Wish I had half her poise and the ability to clearly articulate against questions such as those.

CeridwenTheWitch · 17/11/2019 14:56

She's fantastic.

I was so in awe of how relaxed and confident she was at that talk in Canada, despite an enormous baying mob outside. She didn't let them get to her at all and was even laughing and making jokes during her talk, and I thought that was incredible.

No wonder they want to silence her. She's intelligent, brilliant at debating and discussion, factual, can back up her claims. She remains calm and collected, doesn't get flustered or angry or upset. She's also really good at clearly explaining the very sensible, logical feminist viewpoint. What's great is, the more they try to silence her, the more people seek her out to listen. People don't like being told who they can and can't listen to.

TeiTetua · 17/11/2019 15:06

Oh my, she was brilliant. And I'm not sure that the interviewer was totally hostile. What he did was serve her a succession of challenges, which she handed perfectly every time. Sure, she's thought about her positions, she's faced the challenges before--but she got the chance to perform in the most persuasive way. I don't see how this could have gone better.

And as for opponents "Not being available", I can imagine that MM's reputation would discourage any potential spokesperson from meeting her. As if the world boxing champion was visiting, and the TV network asked for local talent to step up for a few rounds in the ring. Not very enticing.

XXCoffeeHoneyBread · 17/11/2019 15:19

This has really put the issue in the spotlight this week for NZ, excellent work from speak up for women nz Star

I really think the interviewer did a great job there of giving MM the floor whether he meant to or not.

CranberriesChoccy · 17/11/2019 16:56

Enjoyed that very much.

PreseaCombatir · 17/11/2019 20:42

Thoroughly enjoyed that

lydiamajora · 18/11/2019 11:44

She was absolutely perfect. Every question he threw at her, she had a calm, concise, and reasonable response. And notice how he dropped nearly every line of questioning after she replied to the initial comment. No proper rebuttal to anything she had to say.

"What about this? Hmm, that didn't work. What about this? Damn, still talking. Well, what about this?" For the whole interview.

And that final line. So good.
