Hah love it. Not a word of a lie in there.

thecompletenonsequitur · 15/11/2019 07:35

As a slight aside, I've started to notice on twitter, a few people with anime avatars who are GC. Which is quite encouraging.

RoyalCorgi · 15/11/2019 08:30

It’s how I imagine McKinnon is in real life.

Me too. I think McKinnon is exactly like that.

While I would love to see them satirise Yaniv, I think Yaniv's story is actually beyond satire.

He/him

Just wondering if mumsnet will moderate me because I correctly sexed the obviously male cartoon character Hmm

TheQueef · 15/11/2019 08:47

In the irony of you do Strictly

An aside, the Cissy episode puts me in mind of the shitting men we read about here all the delivery/ contractors/ workmen or men in cafes that do power shits.

South Park gets it. never thought I'd get to recommend it on FW R

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 15/11/2019 09:09

I knew they were going to do this and have been looking forward to it. And yes, those who've been enthusiastically promoting this "cause", if you're wondering if that's what other people see and hear when you're on a roll? Yes, yes it is.

South Park skewers everyone the same way, holds up a mirror and reflects them back at themselves in an exaggerated form (not much exaggeration needed in this case tbh). If you don't like what they're showing you? Well, the truth hurts sometimes.

somebrightmorning · 15/11/2019 15:14

a day later I'm actually finding the episode a little hard to watch, especially the portrayal of the women and the things they are forced to say

KatvonHostileExtremist · 15/11/2019 17:11

www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/south-park-transphobic-matt-stone-trey-parker-rachel-mckinnon-season-23-episode-7-a9203876.html

McKinnon's not bothered. Lol. Not at all. Nope. Definitely.

CranberriesChoccy · 15/11/2019 18:14

I'd use McK's own words to describe how the TRA's shout transphobe at every argument about transwomen in sports.

"Yes it’s lazy. Yes it contributes to harm to women and girls."

HandsOffMyRights · 15/11/2019 18:14

I'd like to tell you who's lazy, but I might get into trouble..

I need to watch that Futurama episode now.

Isn't there a Family Guy/American Dad episode where somebody's asking which sex people are and somebody says they are transgender and the person asking for the sex replies "oh, in that case you can do what you want, all of the time."

Silencedwitness · 15/11/2019 18:32

I thought McK was named Rachel? I’ve also been blocked by McK.

traceyracer · 15/11/2019 18:53

"And how come no-one is taking trey Parker to tribunal, or running a social media campaign against him?"

Because everything South Park does is so over-the-top it's very obvious satire, which makes it hard (IMO) to take offence to anything they do.

Remember Isaac Hayes the voice of Chef? He rage-quitted South Park because they done an episode taking the piss out of Scientology. Which IMO was a bit hypocritical since Hayes was happy to pocket cheques for his work on South Park episodes which done other religions.

It does give some interesting perspectives on current topics time-to-time, but it really is just a cartoon for entertainment, that's all.

Erm..I'm lovin' it skin-on?

I've just watched this episode and it is simply glorious!

SP I think. And they are watching porn on their phone in a bar and asked to stop but they say 'oh I'm transgender' and the barman says 'oh in that case do what you want all the time. I'm still Grin

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 15/11/2019 20:23

When did McKinnon change McKinnon's name to veronica?

NotBadConsidering · 15/11/2019 21:36

Yes it’s lazy. Yes it contributes to harm to women and girls.

🤣🤣🤣

This from the person who tweeted all “cis” women should die in a grease fire.

On a semi-serious note, what goes through the head of an idiotic journalist when they think “die in a grease fire” McKinnon is worthy of a sound bite response to a tv show?

HandsOffMyRights · 15/11/2019 22:12

Thanks shes I'll have to find that one - been Youtubing the hell out of South Park this evening and just watched Mr Garrison's fancy new vagina surgery 🙈

TheQueef · 16/11/2019 14:28

So stunning.
So brave.
Mat and Trey look gorgious Coffee Grin

Aaarrgghhh · 16/11/2019 18:44

South Park has always been brilliant and makes digs at certain individuals while making generalised claims but having their likeness on the screen while one of the boys it talking. A few weeks ago I actually started binging them from the beginning again but I may have to skip ahead to this episode and enjoy every moment of it.
