CBBC showing teen drag artist programme

I was browsing last night to see what was on for my 4 yo ds. CBBC listed a programme around 6pm that was about a teenage drag queen and drag pride. Needless to say I was not going to be watching it but WTF?! Children's channels should be free of things like this surely and that's without getting onto the issue of children being in drag.

OP posts:

They were talking about it on BBC News yesterday too and it made me feel really uncomfortable.

A lot of parents will leave their children sat in front of the tv while they prepare tea etc. They shouldn't have to worry about them stumbling across something like this. There's a time and a place and a children's TV channel is definitely not that.

So glad my children are no longer young enough. Though my teen son stopped watching when CBBC bought (presumably cheap) hideous overdramatised teen bollocks about dance classes and competitive meanness and who fancied who, and started playing them on a loop.

Whatever happened to decent teen drama like Grange Hill? The can still do it. I loved Wolf Blood. Better time limited TV like we used to have than cheap crappy imports.

Apologies OP. Rant over. But yes, Children’s BBC are up to their ears in woke bollocks.

  1. Sheesh. I remember Grange Hill - bullying, drink, drugs... all the gritty stuff. Fast forward to 2019 - ‘fabulous’!

A follow up to their Ru Paul drag race offering perhaps? Or (with my tinfoil hat on) an attempt to make cross-dressing more acceptable in public.

I remember when kids wanted to be pop stars and footballers. Now they just want to be stunning and brave...

The head who barred the kid from a school talent show was right. I cannot sit through half an hour of this but assume the head is being posted as a villain.
