Say what now?

The Beeb also had a link about 5things vagina owners need to know. I closed the browser.

I'm guessing this is mostly about customer facing jobs such as retail or entertainment. Which does not in any way make the no glasses demand acceptable.

Men are the same everywhere, thinking women's actual job is to look pretty and make them feel good about themselves regardless of what our job title is. The excuses they come up with to justify their bullshit vary by culture.

NonnyMouse1337 · 09/11/2019 06:17

Same shit, different culture.

Women everywhere have to grapple with the same underlying issues.
There's been more pushback and debate in Japan lately. I hope it leads to wider change in their society and culture.

MockersthefeMANist · 09/11/2019 10:40

It used to be the case that Japanese women were not supposed to use 'strong' verbs like demand or deny, and had to make do with request and decline, etc.

I think da kidz rebelled against that one.

DH used to go to Japan on business about 20 years ago. He tried to pick up a few simple phrases, greetings etc but unfortunately was copying receptionists etc - cue amusement, at a bloke using 'women's words'.

I read that article and was shocked - I wondered to what extent it might be fake news. Not that even one company saying this would be acceptable; however surely it would create huge practical difficulties to enforce on a wide scale.

Sickoffamilydrama · 09/11/2019 22:09

Well that would leave me unable to see so I'd be a bit of a rubbish employee! I did used to wear contact lenses but my eyes have deteriorated too much.

skql · 09/11/2019 23:32

i think it's exaggerated.
