Thanks to Fair Cop for bringing this to our attention.

(Fair Cop's original tweet is included in the article.)
According to the article, any TRA or easily offended person with a protected characteristic, (sorry not you women, sex isn't on the list), or anyone on behalf of a person/people with a protected characteristic can report you for, say a tweet they don't like, and the mark will appear on an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, which can make you ineligable for some types of work. No evidence, no conviction, no way to appeal this.
I'm sure no one will weaponize this...

On that form, I may have noticed PC Gul's name.
Investigation Type - Non-crime
Where do I start with this?
Our police forces are woefully short of resources, crime is on the increase, yet they wish to investigate "non-crime".

It's extremely concerning. If you are wrongly convicted of a crime you can at least appeal.

Is this what’s subject to judicial review? I hope so.
If you were already employed though I think an employer would risk being taken to tribunal over this?
It’s covering the gap left by “insulting” being removed from Sec 5 POA in around 2013 (see “Reform Section 5”). The government were “not minded to challenge it” and “the majority of MPs backed reform”

In these times I am very thankful it was removed as I think we would otherwise have had more attempts at prosecutions for telling the truth

I'm (thankfully when it comes to this) not British, and it isn't clear to me from this is whether this is local to Humberside, or anywhere in Britain. I also wonder if it's possible to check if you've got such "naughty marks" or not. Even from across borders, it's chilling as hell, especially when we know that unpreferred pronouns or lack of deference are considered hate incidents...
