You don't have to be a member to write in a suggestion for the manifesto. In my CLP many people agree with me about this but also seem to see it as a 'niche' issue that 'doesn't come up on the doorstep'. Let's show them how much it matters to us.

I sent this:

I am writing to you to urge you to ensure that women’s sex based rights are protected in the Labour Party manifesto. I am a loyal Labour voter and a party member. I fully support our brilliant MP and plan to trudge the streets as often as I can urging people to vote for her through canvassing or leafletting. I firmly believe that a Labour government is the only chance we have for a better and fairer society.
I believe that if the Labour Party goes down the route which denies women the right to organise as a biological sex, and allows trans identifying men to self identify in to the legal status of ‘woman’ then we are guaranteed to lose the election. The vast majority of the electorate do not agree with self ID, and do not believe the rhetoric of transgender rights activists.
The tide of public opinion is also turning on the issue of trans children. Children, some very young have been allowed, even encouraged to take life limiting medications and some older children are having irreversible surgeries. In the last few years there has been an astronomical rise in the number of children identifying as trans, and presenting at NHS gender clinics. This is an issue which will not go away, and one which the electorate are becoming increasingly aware of, especially since there is an ever increasing flow of young people regretful of their medical transition.
I will find it impossible to canvas for a party whose electoral success would have a profoundly negative impact on the lives of women and children around the country. I sincerely hope that you will be able to ensure the protections of women’s and children’s rights in the manifesto.

This element of the manifesto is being written by Dawn Butler so essentially we are fucked.

Oh God. LIterallyProblematic, you're right :-(
Great letter though. Hopefully we can at least do some damage control.

I've been so disappointed by the Labour Party line on this issue but they remain the absolute best option politically.

I think it's important to push for safe, single sex spaces and support them for the general election.

Labour is not one behemoth but many people and many CLPs, most of whom would actually support single sex spaces in principle. Yes the train to wokeville is full steam ahead and many people see this as a side issue but we have to keep it going, without discrediting Labour.

I see so many feminists online say they can't vote for labour but for goddess' sake, no more bastard tories! Please!
