I'm a member of Facebook group 'Saalt Cup Academy'. It's mainly a US based group but Saalt do sell products in the UK.

Twice today there have been posts made by other members about (lack of) inclusive language... there are non-binary and trans men in the group who have periods. Essentially wanting people to stop saying things like 'hey ladies' when writing posts. ( Examples instead of women/ladies: Bleeders, menstruators, uterus owners, friends, all, everyone, people with periods. Instead of “Feminine hygiene” or “women’s health”
Say, “menstrual products,” “menstrual hygiene,” “period products,” or “reproductive health”.)

The threads have got quite heated. I made my point with others and of course we were labelled transphobic, TERFs, accused of
'Violent erasure of trans' etc.

Attached is the company's response (not admin/mods) to the latest post.. I'm struggling to decide what I think about their response and want to hear your views.
I appreciate they aren't enforcing women to change their language but I'm interpreting it as they will not acknowledge themselves that it's women who have periods? Or am I reading to much into this and have they said the right thing to keep everyone 'happy'?

Inclusive to me is adding more categories, not pretending one no longer exists:

‘Hey, ladies, transmen & non-binary menstruators’ is longwinded as fuck but it’s better than ending up with a default male-sounding hey guys/dudes or being reduced to a body part.

Plus, we do genuinely need to make sure that female people who identify/present as something else don’t skip cancer screening or miss out on other female specific health care needs - must be weird to go to a well-woman clinic when you have a beard.

What we don’t need to do is relinquish our language because men and boys want it to go with their new dresses.

This so-called inclusive language isn't inclusive to women of low literacy or who have English as a second language.

As a woman I menstruate and whilst it's relevant to the topic it's not all I am, so I do not answer to being called a menstruator.

Can't they just say 'hi everyone', surely that is inclusive?' I think their statement is weak and they are trying to sit on the fence to appease everyone.

All this being inclusive business just ends
up excluding some people. If the group that is excluded is roughly half the population I now boycott them, there are always alternatives.
