www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/10/14/police-response-transphobic-stickers-branded-extraordinary/

blogs.spectator.co.uk/2019/10/a-transphobic-crime-wave-has-hit-oxford/

The police said that the content and appearance of the stickers "Woman = adult human female" and "Women don't have penises"
was "not suitable for sharing."

So the truth is not suitable for the delicate eyes of the public.

TRAs are apparently removing the labels and replacing them with "Non binary finery" and "trans women are women".

Meanwhile back in the real world where women are murdered and assaulted.....

The police don't help their cause by making themselves a laughing stock.

Stonewall making it's priorities and agenda very clear.

It's so normal now isn't it, for the LGB to be pushed into the background while the "T" gets it's own little paragraph.

MrsWooster · 15/10/2019 17:38

juells
Did you just misgender your aunt?!?

Ereshkigal · 15/10/2019 17:40

Oh and who was it who encouraged people to report those incidents as often as possible with the stated intent of inflating the statistics?

Indeed. I think it was James Morton of the Scottish Trans Alliance, but possibly not the only time.

Ereshkigal · 15/10/2019 17:42

The BBC are guilty of hate crimes for reporting on the tavistock centre. Apparently.

Oh yes, the BBC are so dementedly transphobic, everyone knows that

Dangerfloof · 15/10/2019 18:02

Oh I'm thinking if it's ok for everyone to report transphobic hate incidents then we should probably join in
Either report everything transphobic you ever see anywhere, or rename misogyny and report all misogyny wherever you see it.
For the first I have or can find several in the last month, for the latter I have 3 so far this week.
Either way will flood the police service and make a point.

Go #StickerWoman!! She really does get around!

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 15/10/2019 18:21

In a way a prosecution might be helpful if women crowdfunded the legal costs. I'd like to see a defence barrister examining what precisely is offensive, criminal and transphobic about stickers containing the dictionary definition of woman.

Michael Biggs, Associate Professor in Sociology at the University of Oxford, might make one witness. He said:

“This is literally the Oxford English definition of what a woman is,” he said.

“I can’t believe that needs any stance at all. To say that a dictionary definition is a terrible hate crime is extraordinary. The police is being incredibly irresponsible."

MockersthefeMANist · 15/10/2019 18:23

...Now that would be reminiscent of the Virgin Records Sex Pistols case, where the English Professor said,

"They're saying you can't say bollocks? That's bollocks."

lucasthecat · 15/10/2019 19:57

Last Night on TV - a documentary channel 4 - Crime and Punishment - following a female police officer and a female probation officer - dealing with a young male sex offender released from prison - for upskirting and possession of images of abuse of children - etc etc -after release he kept threatening to kill people on tape - threatened to analy rape the probation officer - missed his probation appointments - was befriending women with young children - none of this got him charged ‘because he hadn’t actually done anything’ But get caught with your stickers with facts on - and the police will destroy you - a bit odd isn’t it - PS the 2 female police and probation staff were pretty awesome - it was the system that was fucked

I am wondering whether it might be useful to complain to the panel ?

Then there is this kind of thing, which is quite extraordinary, Anthony Stansfeld, the Thames Valley PCC attending a Mickey Mouse tribuneral featuring fake judges, a dodgy self-proclaimed police whistleblower, a woman who claims to be an MKUltra survivor and various grifters.

This bonkers "tribunal" is connected to the Humanitad Foundation and New Earth Nation which are very unusual organisations that have received much criticism all over the internet.

Towards the end of the below ITNJ video claims are made about missing children, allegations of child abuse against Edward Heath (now proved to be false) and even Pizzagate (the bizarre pro Trump conspiracy theory that Hilary Clinton and Democrat politicians are baby eating satanists)

I suppose that, if Anthony Stansfeld is openly attending such strange events we should not be surprised by the police response to the "sticker crimewave"

hoodathunkit · 15/10/2019 20:59

Here you have the founder of the ITNJ, Sacha Stone, in conversation with notorious new age cult leader, neo-tantra promoter and self-proclaimed satanic ritual abuse survivor Teal Swan.

Stone's New Earth video here promoting a festival of quackery and conspiracy theories including anti-vaxxers

The ITNJ is even promoted by Brian Gerrish's UK Column (an anti-British conspiracy channel) here

Can anyone explain to me how the Thames Valley Police Crime Commissioner has gotten himself involved with such a disreputable group of people?

hoodathunkit · 16/10/2019 09:00

Just wanted to add another couple of fascinating videos

Here the founder of the ITNJ and New Earth Nation Sacha Stone in discussion with "Simon on the Sofa"

The above video is one of several videos featuring Simon and Sacha, they promote and endorse one another and are clearly associated with each others grifts

Now this Simon on the Sofa character is a very interesting person.

He has a youtube channel called "Naked Retreat" which is exactly how one might imagine it to be

Simon is also a "sexological bodyworker" basically "yoni massage" etc. to recover traumatic experiences trapped in the body at a cellular level, (yeah right, good luck with that) and the usual stuff with which readers here depressingly familiar

link

www.youtube.com/user/SimonontheSofa/about

Another of Simon's youtube channels is Dara and Simon, a fascinating channel promoting the usual stuff (brain bleach required)

[email protected]
seems to be the place to comment on the Police definition of 'hate crime' (no wonder the stats are up if this sort of non-crime is being reported) and the waste of Police resources.

Coldwatershock · 16/10/2019 13:08

I did email a query about why this was hate crime and whether it should be a priority Police issue; got this response:
'I have forwarded on your email to the Police and Crime Commissioner who is responsible for holding the Chief Constable to account. The Police and Crime Panel support and scrutinise the Police and Crime Commissioner, not the Chief Constable.
Kind Regards

Zero shock that the same force are poor on sexual violence and dv.

Will they have a dictionary burning session soon I wonder.

Michelleoftheresistance · 16/10/2019 13:39

Stonewall doing it's usual: 'if women were not allowed to talk about their rights and point out that they refuse to believe a male is a woman because he says he is, then violent crime against LGBT people would never happen'.

Because women are responsible for everything men do.

Clap your hands, girls, the fairies are literally dropping dead .

Michelleoftheresistance · 16/10/2019 13:46

I hope this does get taken to court: is a dictionary definition transphobic?

If it is, then any implication, not even a statement but mere implication, of a fact or reality that may hurt the feelings of a transperson or suggest you do not accept their personal choice of identity as absolute unconditional truth, is

a) an intentional act of 'hate' (whatever that means this week) and is against British law, deserving of legal punishment. (Let's talk about the public purse, burglary response rate, police call out right, crime rate, rape prosecution stats, stuff like that and put it in a manifesto, eh?)

b) the personal responsibility of all citizens to protect trans people at all times from truth and reality by lying and fabrication, up to and including denying their own personal beliefs and to their own personal cost (I mean wtaf.)

c) this is somehow sane and in the best interests of trans people because...…….? (I shall now ask my learned colleague to discuss the positives and negatives of indulging beliefs incompatible with actual truths.

d) In the words of Rhys-Mogg, 'other people have rights too'.

SarahTancredi · 16/10/2019 13:52

In the words of Rhys-Mogg, 'other people have rights too'

Wonder where the police stand on the right not to be mentally and emotionally abused and gaslighted by law enforcement when reporting a crime or incident.

And will they re define purgery? What will the outcome be if/ When a person has to knowingly lie in court or when giving a statement

MrsWednesdayteatime · 16/10/2019 14:50

I've checked out pages from BBC GCSE bitesize, there are many pages where if you were to make a revision flashcards with the facts you've read on the webpage and then stick your revision notecard in a public place, those biological GCSE facts could be seen as a transphobic hate crime/incidents

www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/znyycdm/articles/zbpdqhv

How much are we messing with young people's brains, that we teach them facts in the classroom that would be seen as a hate crime to repeat outside of the Biology curriculum (not suggesting that it's the curriculum that needs to change)

Trewser · 16/10/2019 14:51

It would be quite intersting to put that bitesize quote on a sticker.

Fraggling · 16/10/2019 14:53

Omfg at bbc bitesize.

Now someone has flagged it on here, I suspect the bbc will be under pressure to change it.

MrsWednesdayteatime · 16/10/2019 14:56

BBC bitesize reflects various different exam board curriculum though, I don't think the content is 100% BBC, pressure would have to be on the boards setting the exams first.

Fraggling · 16/10/2019 15:05

No I think it would be fine.

Who cares really what the content is for our where it's from.

Transphobia is Transphobia.

Don't forget plenty of local authorities etc have rewritten the protected chatacteristics, and they are written into law.

Something as trivial as exam boards and gcse s shouldn't stand in the way of doing the right thing.

Dangerfloof · 16/10/2019 16:21

So are we all reporting BBC bitesize for transphobia?
Concerted effort could see some results, and we get to be woke too.
Do we all report to the same police force or just our local one?
