This is an awesome place, full of amazing women but there will inevitably be times when wires get crossed or people don't explain themselves very clearly. We've learnt to be cautious of new posters due to the goading we've had.
Stick with us, we're a real cross-section of women, some academic, many not so. I have learnt so much from here.

I'm really not academic. I can be a pedantic piss taking arse if my dad talks about having a prostrate exam, but the only thing I have specialist knowledge of is Doctor Who, which really doesn't serve any useful purpose at all. I learn to use the tab key properly last week, though. So I'm definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to not having to use a mouse to fill in online forms.

People have misunderstandings on a fairly regular basis both online and in person. I have certainly had my share on this forum.
FYI, I am a high school drop out who takes a dim view of those who express contempt for education.
