The tube thing, we used to have guards on our tube line till late 90s or something
They were always in the last of second last carriage so you knew where to find them and late at night people would choose that one. The people would be mainly teens of both sexes who were on their own, women in their own.
Lots of people are vulnerable and I would far rather see more staff around to help and a guard, for anyone who felt (was) vulnerable.
Some stations now, on mainline not sure about tube, no one there after dark. They are often badly lit and few people around, no passers by obviously.
This is the sort of thing where cuts or changes need impact assessments esp for women but also other groups. As they just stop using the service and don't make a fuss. Impacts ability to engage in normal life. And know full well if anything happens if they're female they will be blamed.
