I’m a bit shocked at bathroom 4!

I want to know where the baths are. I read this article with great disappointment.

Bloody woke Guardian journalists don't even know what country they are living in.

AnyOldPrion · 08/09/2019 08:39

Fixed this paragraph for her

Gender-neutral bathrooms are not just a matter of efficiency, they are also a matter of civil rights. Transgender people, nonbinary people and those who do not conform to gendered norms of appearance Women might not be safe in singlemixed-sex spaces where they are at risk of verbal and physical and sexual assault.

They do mention that some people prefer single sex in the article. I personally think that in many situations with lower traffic especially, all stalls make sense - or take the theatre, one day it may be lots of women, another day more men, neutral males sense whereas at the football mostly gender neutral with a handful of female only makes more sense because the clientele are mostly male (still). At the airport single sex facilities in the main terminal but unisex near the gate makes sense

Mona was one of the sanctimonious US Guardian journalists who lectured the UK Guardian for having the temerity to once present a slightly balanced view of the conflict of rights between trans issues and women's with the proposed changes to the GRA.

Yes Eresh, and that Opinion piece ends with:

And our journalism should be grounded in the principle that trans women are women

How can a journalist who blogs about data, you know, facts, be trusted when they openly admit they base their journalism on something made up?

Ereshkigal · 08/09/2019 09:52

Quite. She should be ashamed of herself.

Wasn't aware that propping up dubious political ideologies was the raison d'être of journalism. I would have thought rather the opposite.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 08/09/2019 09:57

The Guardian decided that advocating for dodgy ideologies was their modus operandi some time ago - hence them losing my subscription.

MrsJoshNavidi · 08/09/2019 10:14

The solution to long wait times for women is go give women more toilets. Simple.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/09/2019 10:17

I read the article and it seems to miss the point rather. It doesn't seem to examine properly the desire of women to use a single sex toilet - it's only based on efficiency.

I'm fairly certain that most women would be happy to queue for longer than men in order to use a single sex toilet.

In the final proposed scenario where a small number of single sex toilets are available for the bigots and a large number of unisex toilets I suspect that in reality the single sex women's toilets would have a huge queue and the unisex would be primarily men's.

Also surprised to see that article proposing unisex stalls rather than the fully enclosed rooms with sinks required by law.

I was at York Uni open day where the loos were gender neutral. DD was with me and she is 17. It struck me that I wouldn't want her going in alone. Is it not obvious that women's safety is at risk?
