Have also posted in AIBU for traffic but thought it was worth mentioning that there is a survey at the moment on experiences of sexual harassment at work from the Govt Equalities Office.

May be of interest to some - I saw it via LinkedIn.

Link is here: www.gov.uk/government/consultations/consultation-on-sexual-harassment-in-the-workplace

"We would particularly like to hear from:

  • anyone who has experience of sexual harassment or other types of discrimination at work
  • anyone who is or has been a volunteer or an intern and who has experience of sexual harassment or any other type of discrimination
  • anyone who has managed or supported someone who has experienced sexual harassment or other types of discrimination at work
  • anyone who has thought about taking a case of any type of discrimination or harassment to an employment tribunal, whether or not you decided to in the end"

This survey actually really pissed me off. IIRC the info about the respondent bit towards the end asked a daft question conflating sex and gender identity and the survey failed to ask what sex the perpetrator was. So the results won't tell us a single thing about how sexual harassment affects women compared to men and it won't reflect the fact that other surveys have shown that over 90% of perpetrators of sexual harassment are male. The GEO could really do with some actual feminists working on this stuff!

I went back tot he box you can add details in and ripped into that last section. It won't make any difference but I felt better for having done so!

Yes I used the "other comments" box to point out the complete failure to ask about sex of perpetrator or victim, therefore rendering the whole thing a bit toothless and meaningless.
