I'd love to see it, but no where near Edinburgh.

Maybe it'll be toured round the country.

MargueritaBlue · 05/08/2019 23:59

The Scotsman didn't like it- 2 stars out of 5.

HuckfromScandal · 06/08/2019 00:03

The Scotsman was one persons opinion.
Mine is as a GC female - it was good

So was it an actor looking like Titania McGrath or the comedian who writes her Tweets?

Loved it.

Absolytely brill. Only thing missing wast he health issues afflicting trans people on medication and the awful surgery.

She's so woke she's vile.

Scotsman know nothing.

MargueritaBlue · 06/08/2019 00:34

I'm doing The Scotsman an injustice- it was The Guardian and 1 star.

I will be avoiding anything which explores gender , from any point of view.

EverardDigby · 06/08/2019 05:50

The Guardian probably only gave it one star because it's not possible to give it none.

NotTerfNorCis · 06/08/2019 06:06

She also provides succour, of course, to the anti-PC brigade, who situate any attempt to institute a kinder or fairer society somewhere between impertinence, childish naivety and Marxist-Leninism.

The Guardian's real objection.

newhousestress · 06/08/2019 06:19

Good to hear. I have tickets for near the end of the Festival run.

Has anyone read the book? Wondered if I should read before going or if it's a re-hash.

nauticant · 06/08/2019 07:54

A 5 star review from The Guardian would be a warning sign.

Let's be honest, who thinks that if you want to be very amused you go to a performance by woke people?

HumberElla · 06/08/2019 08:44

Hmmm excellent, I may look out for more one star guardian reviews in the future. Likely to be a sign of good and critically engaging entertainment!

NonnyMouse1337 · 07/08/2019 08:28

Thanks for the recommendation. I spotted the poster and thought the name and picture looked familiar, but didn't give it much thought. I'll give it a go.

If anyone else is interested in going to the show and would like to team up, feel free to message me and maybe we can find a date that works.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 07/08/2019 19:55

Andrew Doyle's doing stand up form 19th at the pleasance.

I think I'll go and cheer him on.

TerfTalk · 07/08/2019 22:53

That Guardian review is its own parody. It can't explicitly state why the show is bad, so it offers a load of Mumbo-jumbo instead.

NonnyMouse1337 · 18/08/2019 16:34

I went to see this last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I was quite impressed at how many aspects of liberal feminism and 'woke'ness it touched upon. I've gotten so used to so many things being censored online and in general, that to see a show openly making fun of the woke and so-called progressive crowd was really refreshing. Being able to laugh out loud in public at the absurdity of it all was really nice. :)

It took the piss out of all of the 'progessive' ideas... I've been frustrated for years seeing how left wing and feminist discourse has been going and it was good to see all those different strands played out on stage.

TerfTalk · 21/08/2019 22:28

The fact that it's written by a man likely adds to why it's acceptable. If a GC feminist had written this, there's no way it would be allowed.

NonnyMouse1337 · 21/08/2019 22:46

True. It does wedge the door open for others though. The TRA silence over men's critique is further proof of how misogynistic the whole movement is.

Caucho · 22/08/2019 00:22

Come on now TerfTalk. You sound like Titania herself with that chat. Far far long ago there was a Viz character called Millie Tant

Aspley · 22/08/2019 00:30

Hahahaha one star from the Guardian.
Tossers.

lucasthecat · 22/08/2019 07:39

Very Interesting if you read all the comments under the guardian one star review - Every single comment points out the review is bullshit - from people who have seen the show - redirecting to other 5 star reviews and the response of the audience at the show - It also links to posters - where the show has loads of 5 star reviews - and then has a one star review from the observer as a badge of honour - refreshing that on the rare occasion the guardian opens a ‘controversial’ story for comments their own readership tears them apart

Lumene · 22/08/2019 10:28

Lol at the guardian to giving one star to a show satirising its readers. The Guardian lost itself when it lost its sense of humour.

BigotedWoman · 22/08/2019 11:21

Travis Alabanza got 4 stars from the guardian. Go figure!

LittleLebowski · 22/08/2019 11:35

How did it work with the actress playing Titania? I wondered if it would come off well. I saw Andrew Doyle at his Comedy Unleashed club and enjoyed it - I recognised Heather Brunskill-Evans sitting behind me so I know he has plenty of GC fans. He was also good on the Ricky Gervais podcast not long ago. Titania and Jarvis Dupont (who I find funnier - I like his knock knock jokes) keep me going on Twitter when I find myself too high up Wokeback Mountain.

What?! That burger abomination?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
