Absolutely brilliant article in the Sunday Times about how parents - that's us! - are rising up against trans propaganda in schools. Name checking Safe Schools Alliance UK

I found Safe Schools Alliance here: safeschoolsallianceuk.net

On their Get Involved page it says you can join a regional hub. There's also loads of really helpful fact sheets on how to find out what is happening with your school and LEA

We need to join forces to protect children!

RadicalStitch · 04/08/2019 07:39

This is brilliant!
Wish the article didn't go along with the mad myth of that poor girl being a boy!

ChattyLion · 04/08/2019 08:02

Very good article and also a massive thank you to that mother for doing something to positively help children. Flowers
Poor, poor Jayden and their family, honestly words fail me about what they must have been through.

What great publicity for that group!

RedToothBrush · 04/08/2019 08:51

The former chair of governors at the school where a kid killed themselves after getting mixed up with the Webberely's has good incite as to what happened at that school.

Why isn't this school being investigated?

Yes. Why?

Lang reposting this post from you from the thread about Jayden

So, let me get this right.

A child who had been unpopular and bullied, who had Asperger's, was same sex oriented and was self-harming joined a school Pride club run by a transgender teacher and became persuaded that all their unhappiness was due to their "gender identity".

The Tavistock sent them a leaflet telling them to expect to be suicidal.

They got powerful drugs from an unlicensed clinic which addressed none of the underlying issues of a spectrum diagnosis, burgeoning sexuality, or self harm.

And the outcome was tragic.

And reminding everyone that Jaydens family are seeking a second inquest as they only found out the Webberely's clinic wasn't regulated properly after Jaydens death.

There are many safeguarding issues with the school here.

And I notice how carefully that article by the Sunday Times is written, which doesn't mention the details of Jayden's case and much about the situation at the school.

It almost reads as a deliberate omission as the article doesn't make as much sense without the full background to the case.

This is perhaps for editorial conciseness or because the intention of the article is merely to raise awareness of safe schools alliance. And because there is a sensitivity here.

I do find it strange that there is no mention of the desire for a second inquest at least though.

Maybe I'm reading too much here, but this distance makes me wonder if there is a legal reason why there's distancing going on here.

Great article and fantastic exposure for SSAUK

Good points Red so many detransitioner stories highlight grooming issues within the "T" community. To mention this fact is phobic though Confused

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 04/08/2019 10:07

RedTooth Brush my daughter is a journalist. There are strict guidelines on any reporting of suicide as it is known that such reports encourage copycats.

RedToothBrush · 04/08/2019 10:20

I'm aware of the suicide guidelines, but that doesn't stop them mentioning the relevant points in this case.

The guidelines generally refer to the glorification or glamorisation of suicide and the method of suicide to stop copycats.

In this case there are factors which may have contributed to suicide which could be mentioned without discussing details that do that.

LangCleg · 04/08/2019 10:40

Maybe I'm reading too much here, but this distance makes me wonder if there is a legal reason why there's distancing going on here.

It may well be because I understand that the intention of the article was to re-orient from transition or suicide narrative pushed by TRAs.

FormerMediocreMale · 04/08/2019 10:47

re-orient from transition or suicide narrative pushed by TRA

So showing affirmative approach does NOT stop suicide as pushed by TRA. The child had socially transitioned, parents and school were affirming, child took hormones but still committed suicide.

Co morbidities completely ignored especially around ASD and puberty. Child went from socially awkward to stunning and brave popular 'boy' and still committed suicide. Its almost as if transition is not the fix all its sold as - what a surprise Hmm

RedToothBrush · 04/08/2019 10:55

It could be Lang, but as Former points out that reorientation is going to have to involve pointing out all the fallacies present in that narrative.

Unformidable · 04/08/2019 11:56

what a fantastic article, thanks for sharing

Sunkisses · 04/08/2019 12:13

Here is the link to the article that revealed that this poor teenager killed herself AFTER being prescribed testosterone by the now struck off Webberleys. Those people have a lot to answer for. www.cambridge-news.co.uk/news/cambridge-news/transgender-treatment-nhs-webberley-jayden-16504026

Sunkisses--and yet it is remarkable how biased the article is in favor of testosterone treatment. Madness.

GColdtimer · 04/08/2019 14:42

Hi everyone, SSAUK person here. We talked to Sian at length about this article and as Lang pointed out

It may well be because I understand that the intention of the article was to re-orient from transition or suicide narrative pushed by TRAs.

I think it's the first time this angle has been covered in MSM so is a really crucial point and timely given all the GIDS stuff.

If you are on twitter please do come and give us and Sian some support.
