Both contenders spouting TWAW and Ed Dave adding TMAM. Jo Swinson giving it the denying existence spin. What happened to politicians' ability to think? Presenter cut off mid-question about feminist view. Bloody state of all our parties one way or another.

A golden opportunity for the assorted Changey TIGs to offer the voters a USP here. Are they still locked in the brewery looking for a bottle opener?

JS by a landslide.

From here:
www.thesocialreview.co.uk/2019/07/21/jo-swinson-said-trans-rights/

Davey stated that he supported gender self-identification, adding: “I believe in the freedom of the individual to be who they want to be – and not to be told who they are by society. When society dictates to individuals, unhappiness and discrimination are not far behind. So for me, a trans woman is a woman, and a trans man is a man. For me, that’s not a policy position, it’s their reality and I respect it.”

So are women free to be who they want to be and not be told who they are? He has just said that there is something that transwomen and women have in common which is not shared by either transmen or men. What is that something? It can't be biology, because that would mean that transwomen are men and transmen are women. So what is it? Feminine lady feelings? That's telling me that I have those things, even though I don't.

So according to Ed Davey, transwomen are who they say they are, and women are whoever the trans lobby say they are. Freedom of the individual to be who they want to be, but only for some individuals.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I voted Lib Dem in the euros. I now know not to do so again.
Looks like I’m stuck with Boris. What a world, eh?

The medicalisation of identification and transitioning is unjustifiable and I believe it breaches our human rights obligations.

I'm still trying to work out what Jo Swinson is trying to say here. Is she saying that no medicalisation is necessary in order to transition - so a man is a woman if he says he is? If so, then why are children being experimented on with puberty blockers?

And can Jo explain how we can tell the difference between a man who is really a woman and a man who is just pretending to be a woman?
