How many sports governing bodies are issuing incorrect guidance on trans inclusion?

I've just been reading the Pride articles coming out of The FA twitter feed today. All of it is very lovely and inclusive as it should be. However if you click onto the trans player articles, theres a link to their trans policies which has incensed me. Its guidance regarding changing rooms is against the exemptions allowable under the Equality Act, sex and gender are frequently conflated and they describe the protected characteristic of gender reassignment incorrectly. The policies are at the bottom of this article.

I wonder how many other sports bodies have been captured by this unfair bullshit?

British Cycling certainly has. One of the reasons many women don't join mainstream cycling clubs is becuase they are male dominated and you get left behind so they created Breeze, a series of women only bike rides. However Breeze is open to any identifying as a woman so it's not really just for women. Hmm

Are more to add to the list?

I no longer compete, but Fair Play for women have an excellent guide to the legal single sex exemptions in sports, in case anyone needs it;

I've seen British Athletics and British Gymnastics doing trans inclusion/self ID so not respecting sex segregated spaces and the Equality Act.

''British Swimming embraces the spirit of all equalities legislation and is committed to eradicating any form of discrimination. We will not tolerate discrimination either directly or indirectly, on the grounds of race, disability, class or social background, religious belief, sexual orientation, ethnic or national origins, gender, marital status, pregnancy, parental status, age, colour or political persuasion.''

But happy to discriminate on the basis of sex despite being illegal. Excellent. Angry

If you want to read diversity policies that are better than average, look at equestrian sports. It could be because the sexes compete on an equal footing.
The British Horse Society diversity policy is only available as a download so I cant link it. They also have a strong safeguarding policy.
The British Equestrian Federation policy is linked below. My only grumble is they list 'gender' instead of 'sex'.

I think the British Rowing policy is not that bad, as might be expected for a sport where the male/female physiological difference is very stark, though it shows the impact of the IOC rule change, which they apply for international competition.

But they make it clear that these rules don't necessarily apply for UK competition, and I think have it right about the GRA/Equality Act interaction.
