Transgender question?

A genuine question I have...

I have seen some transgender people arguing against gender stereotypes such as pink is for girls, blue is for boys etc. which is understandable but usually when they speak about their gender dysphoria and how they knew they were a different gender when they were younger they say things like 'I was playing with barbies when my friends were playing with cars. That's when I knew I was a woman' or something along those lines.

So how can you argue against the gender stereotypes but then use them to justify your reason for wanting to be a different gender?

This isn't a hate post towards transgender people, I'm just hoping to be enlightened.

And Ts is not responsible for the beliefs other trans people hold re birth sex (or whatever), he can only share his own.

Although it's a zombie thread, I really think this point needs emphasising. I very much doubt that most trans people think you can change sex. The reason non-binary has become so fashionable is because it's an easy way of categorising discomfort with gender stereotypes.

It's important not to lump all trans people/GD sufferers in with the Genderist loons.

how can th two even moderately be linked, they're completely different. anorexia can be extremely dangerous for you physically and stems from a root of deeper mental health problems that need to be abolished. on top of that, anorexic people will never reach a point of being content in themselves as a result of starving themselves whereas people with body dysmorphia can easily be content from changing their identity.
The rapidly increasing number of detransitioners would seem to suggest otherwise.

While some people achieve contentment with their transition, many others do not and can experience serious mental and physical health problems several years after transitioning. The process is 'complete' but they realise they cannot achieve what they wanted (to 'become' the opposite sex) and they are increasingly dealing with the serious health issues that come with taking large quantities of cross-sex hormones and plus surgical complications.

Hasci Horvath's experience is one such example - 4thwavenow.com/tag/hacsi-horvath/

Everything Babdoc said. So true, and so sad that those worn-out old stereotypes have been revived by the gender identity movement. Now we’re supposed to believe liking pink makes a boy a girl. How is that progress?

That's not true at all. The long term data on transition suggest that it has very limited benefits at best for MH. I can assure you from knowing trans people who have ended up in a much better place it's neither quick nor easy.

Equally it is quite possible for anorexics to recover, in the same way many GD sufferers do.
