MP refusing to pass on letter to Mordaunt

A friend of mine wrote a polite, clear and evidenced letter to her MP expressing concern about the huge rise in young girls transitioning and quoting Tavistock whistleblowers. MP refused to send it to Penny Mordaunt because she doesn't agree with the concerns and doesn't want it to look as if she does.
This is anti-democratic - blocking the communication channel from a woman to the Minister for Women.
Is this normal MN women? I know lots of you are involved in politics - do eg Brexit supporting MPs refuse to pass on pro-EU correspondence and vice versa?
Why is it not possible to pass on correspondence with a covering letter saying 'I disagree with the contents, but here's a letter from a constituent and my job is to represent them'?

I agree, shocking behaviour from your MP.

You can write to ministers directly btw, just make sure the correspondence makes clear that you're writing to them in their capacity as a minister, rather than as a constituency MP. And say that your constituency MP refused to forward your letter, which you consider to be a serious dereliction of her duty as your parliamentary representative. (You might also want to copy this to the Chief Whip and the chair of their local party organisation, making clear to the latter that you consider such behaviour to be a vote-loser.)

I don't think it is the role of MPs to pass on correspondence to ministers. Write to Penny Mourdant directly but make sure it goes to her ministerial team rather than her constituency. (See below)

Minister for Women and Equalities, Government Equalities Office, Sanctuary Buildings, 16-20 Great Smith Street, London, United Kingdom, SW1P 3BT

But name and shame the MP

FermatsTheorem · 02/07/2019 09:37

They don't have to, but they often do - I wrote to my MP about an event in favour of the Nordic model, and he not only went, but got in touch with the MoJ on my behalf and forwarded their reply back to me.

My MP has passed on correspondence and my consultation response to Mordaunt which is why I was surprised to hear about this.
I realise MPs must get tons of green ink stuff coming in, but an evidenced letter on a subject on which there has recently been a public consultation is a different matter.
When I lived in a different region I've had 'I've forwarded your letter' type responses as basically a 'please go away now' response.
Thanks for the contact - yes we're aware you can write to Mordaunt directly. Feels like it has more weight coming from constituency MP as well, but perhaps I should think of it the other way round... if an MP wants to support us they can forward all the correspondence from constituents.

You could consider complaining about your MP to the Standards Commissioner. I've not read the Code of Conduct so I don't know if not taking up your query with the Minister is a breach but you can read about it here and decide and/or call them for advice:

So lets get this straight, this MP thinks that it is not a problem at all that there has been a 4000% increase in ROGD amongst girls and actively resists the idea of any sort of enquiry. Please name them because if they are my MP they'll be getting a visit. I would need to see such vapid stupidity for myself.

I've written 3 or 4 times to Sturgeon about Scottish government policy . She's not my MSP. I think her office has replied a couple of times. I don't really see why you need your MP to be a post box.
