Our local elections were delayed due to the death of a candidate. So this week we had all parties knocking on the door, dropping leaflets. Some were truly weird, but that's by the by (see what I did there - bye elections, by the by)

One candidate is someoneI know. So I told him I was currently politically homeless, he looked interested and asked why. I started to explain and he rolled his eyes he rolled his fucking eyes at me

As he did I said, in my best ex-teacher's voice "THAT rection is precisely why your wife, daughter and granddaughters will have to share their changing rooms, get naked, with men" He looked a bit shocked, tried to laugh, and left.

I have since spoken to his daughter, ex colleague and very GC friend. She told him he needed to wake up from his comfortable patriarchal slumber and actually look at his party's definition of woman (he is a Tory). He mist have had a bit of a browse as he has fb messaged me to the effect that he now sees what I meant!

I think that counts as having peaked someone!

Well done OP!

I was surprised that a Green would-be councillor was very supportive of my GC views. She was a woman though (the XX kind, bonkers having to clarify that.. Hmm ) and retired, had clearly seen a bit of life. Said I'd vote for her if she promised to express her eminently sensible views - that humans cannot change sex, no die in a grease fire here - amongst the Greens at grassroots.

She promised to, I voted for her - she didn't get elected.

Lol, i was on a well known radio station earlier talking about LGBT orgs teaching/advising schools. The arrogant presenter cut me off for refusing to bend to his pov. I probably could have made my points much better and did drop the ball unfortunately on a really relevant point. It’s not the presenter I’m trying to get across to though but those listening

fairplayforwomen.com/factsheets/

Print out a stack of these fact sheets and have them handy so that when people come to your front door you can give them some educational leaflets to go away and read
