Women being deplatformed

Seems Julia Hartley Brewer is too right wing for the Royal College of General Practitioners, who've rescinded their invitation for her to speak at a conference. Whilst I disagree with her massively on certain subjects, the college are being congratulated for protecting the weak and feeble minds of their members from "a literal nazi, and a female sewer"
Does anyone think sex plays a part in this too? Silencing upperity women like Julie Bindle, Jenni Murray, and JHB? Or are no debate tactics evenly spread?

It was good to see the labour MP Kate Hoey speaking up, saying it was wrong to deplatformed JHB. That was of cause was met with threats, by the ever tolerant Woke.

They've given her far more of a platform by not letting her speak, in my opinion. But you know, she might have said some witchy spells and turned them all into newts. So better safe than sorry.

JHB defends herself here:

I enjoyed the comment about Little Owen Jones too. I find him obnoxious, but I would never deplatform him.

Certainly the female sex is held up to more scrutiny than the Male; men who are de platformed eg tommy Robinson are far far more 'right wing' than women, eg Jenni Murray. Moderately controversial men appear to be able to run for Tory leadership rather than be no platformed.

But those tweets are correct; I'd still want to listen to LOJ's views.

As a taxpayer, I have to say I profoundly resent being made to pay for these people’s salaries.
Knowing a number of GPS, I’d say a fair proportion of them will be fat more “extreme” than JHB’s.

I think the RCGP has made itself look ridiculous. It sounds as though someone spent hours combing her many tweets over the years to find one they thought could get her uninvited. It doesn't sound a clever or well argued tweet and saying anything positive about Enoch Powell is never a good idea but saying it shows she is a racist is silly.
I find Owen Jones very offensive and misogynistic but would never campaign to stop his views being heard. Really sad some GPs are so intolerant and frightened of debate.

The debate for free speech rages on

This time a "women, adult human female" sticker was taken down from an exhibition about protests...... because it was the wrong sort of protest

Perhaps the female patients of the doctors concerned might like to publicise their disapproval of their activities and campaign for their removal? What’s sauce for the gander after all.
Certainly I would be making my feelings very clear to the head of the practice and the local PCT, if I were the patient of one of them.

The RCGP has fallen. I can't post any more images today but RcgpFaculties have congratulated Hardup on passing his GP exams, along with Helen Stokes-Lampard - Chair is RCGP.
They are proud to be the first medical college to march at London Pride.
And Dr Anthony James, another GP trainee is a trustee of Mermaids according to his twitter bio.

The RCGP is just a glorified trade union now though isn’t it really. It stands for its members, not the patient. Same as the Bar Council or the Law Society. It’s the regulators who matter.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 01/06/2019 12:53

I hope so....

Thanks for the twitter links. Seems they are #teammisogyny

The RCGP isn't a trade union. That's the BMA. You have to be a GP to be a member so of course it represents GPs, its main job is regulating GP training. It isn't meant to be a patient organisation, none of the medical Royal Colleges are e.g. the Royal College of Surgeons is unsurprisingly composed of surgeons. Most GPs aren't members of the RCGP though as it is seen to be overly academic and out of touch with ordinary general practice by many.
