Dominic Raab still thinks feminists are bigots

He was on Marr this morning, just catching up on it now.

Remember when he wrote “feminists are now amongst the most obnoxious bigots” (amongst other gems) in this article in 2011 Dominic Raab: We must end feminist bigotry?

Marr just asked him if he still stands by that statement - he just waffled about supporting equality/Maria Miller. He’s asking to be our Prime Minister, and didn’t think that might be a good opportunity to say “hmm, I did generalise a bit there didn’t I, perhaps that was slightly offensive” at least.

Not that I have any say in who the Tories choose anyway, but way to start turning off 52% of the electorate before you’re even in No10, Dom.

I wrote to him about the GRA. Didn't care much for his reply.

To Raab or Stewart, Cadbury?

Raab is gender critical:
The MP also said it should not be made easier to change your gender, adding it was important to be “very careful” about young people who express that desire.

He responded: “I certainly don’t think I want to make it easier. I think you need to be very careful with people of that age.

“I want everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin. But I do worry a little bit with some of this debate - whether it is in relation to vulnerable women in prisons or children in school - that we take a careful, balanced approach because we need to be a society which is small-L liberal, if you like, which is tolerant and warm to the LGBT community.

“Whereas I also worry about the vulnerability of other people, whether it is women in prisons or children at a very tender age in school, so we need to get the balance right.”
DM article on men declaring themselves feminist based on Raab's comment. Julie B comments on it too.
