Horrifying but not surprising. The idea of having a cross-county agreement so allegations are not investigated "in house" seems a good one.

Yes, I liked even better the suggestion of an independent organisation set up to try to avoid that issue. Although I understand the IPCC is not exactly covered in glory ...

The point made by the woman interviewed on TV was that the police can't be seen as a refuge for domestic abusers if its to be effective in prosecuting that crime/able to support victims of DA.

I'm kind of hoping at some point someone says the police has a huge institutionalised misogyny problem and this has to be seen as part of that.

Police are pretty useless when it comes to violent and sexual crimes against women and children the fact they do even less when it's one of their own is not surprising. 😕

This is terrible, they’re high figures and don’t even reflect the real extent of it. How can the police protect abused women if they’re covering up for abusers amongst them. The culture is terrible.
