Probably naive, disgusted

Don't watch porn at all, don't agree with the industry. DP doesn't watch it but doesn't understand industry, a little bit head in sand. Anyway we were discussing and went on a site that had stories on it, discussing if that was acceptable or not considering people are not involved except writers and OMFG.

I am probably naive but the top 20 stories...

About 8 were about mother and son Envy
About 4 were like virgin daughter seduces her father EnvyEnvyEnvy
About 6 were about brother and sister
The other 2 were neighbours or friends, so not incest

I am so so so so disgusted. What the fuck is humanity seriously? I am just.... in deep deep shock.

What the fuck is going on with society?
I'm so deeply disturbed by AGP and paedophiles (to an awful extent) but at least you can say that is SOMEWHAT of an anomaly (though paedophilia is so scarily common) and is seen as deeply abhorrent by the majority. But this... it's the TOP results, the MOST POPULAR. People find this a TURN ON...... it makes me want to fucking cry tbh.

DP had this exact same blackmail email. It must really be doing the rounds!
He just binned it immediatly.
He actually doesn't watch porn. I feel very lucky. I don't know how I'd feel if he did. I find most porn quite aggressive and off putting.

RosaWaiting · 21/04/2019 16:48

probably being naive too, but how can some of this be legal?

Mbwashenzi · 21/04/2019 16:51

The porn industry is all about hooking men and reeling them in with ever more horrendous imagery. It's like any web-based business: it wants the customers to keep clicking. The money is in the shock value, and when men stop being shocked by something the industry pushes the boundaries further. Prof. Gail Dines is VERY good on this - some of her lectures are on YouTube. But it's ubiquitous and so normalised: there was a horrible article in last month's London Review of Books (of all places), basically saying it's all good fun, it's normal, it's a good supplement for Sex Ed. Here - see what you think? www.lrb.co.uk/v41/n07/tom-crewe/short-cuts

It's legal because the film-makers use young-looking adult actors. It's very well organised in America - all porn actors have to supply a birth certificate and proof that they are clear of HIV before they're accepted for a film.
And incest porn isn't all that new. Aout 20 years ago, when I had just got onto the internet at home, I clicked on the wrong link and found myself on a US porn site that offered what looked like every variety of incest porn. The site had a big disclaimer at the top of the page that all the porn was legal and all the actors were nonrelated and legally adult.
Jon Ronson has a seven-part podcast series about the American porn industry called The Butterfly Effect. I've only heard one part, but it's seems very informative and even-handed; he's sympathetic to the actors and doesn't show it as anything but rather awful for them.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 21/04/2019 22:26

Not necessarily, just look at the front page of Youporn. Full of incest.

I just looked. Don't normally look at this stuff.
Only one incest one - "stepmom" and bloke.
Few teen stuff, some "wife" stuff.
No choking, nothing particularly weird. Is it that common?

deydododatdodontdeydo · 21/04/2019 22:30

DP had this exact same blackmail email. It must really be doing the rounds!

I've had it, DH has had it, it's nonsense. One of them even had an old password in which must have been hacked.
Ignore it.

ZebrasAreBras · 22/04/2019 11:24

I had it too. Apart from the fact that I know it couldn't possibly be true because I never watch porn, I'd heard about the scam - but I wonder if people might be taken in due to that Black Mirror episode? There are (obviously) an awful lot of v dubious porn viewers out there Envy

FannyCann · 22/04/2019 12:06

Another one that's had the email. In my spam folder, only just found it.
Doomed to fail as pp said, 1. I don't watch porn, 2. Haven't a clue about bitcoins 3. Apparently sent in February. Doesn't sound like my contacts have received that video. Grin

'If you send me the money I will destroy the videos. '
Yeh, cos you, douche bag scammer, are so trust worthy?

HollowTalk · 22/04/2019 16:05

It's the same on Amazon, in the romance section - it's full of step "romances." The authors' names are generally female.

And there's an AMA today about a phone sex operator where she said something like 60% of the callers talked about their stepdaughters. That is terrifying.

WeRiseUp · 22/04/2019 16:07

That is terrifying.
Shock

BuzzPeakWankBobbly · 22/04/2019 16:08

I'm on a fb group which posts stupid dating chats/profiles - in the main those which have guys contacting women with dick pics and generally pornified comments about cumming and squirting and that sort of thing.

And that's what they say as the "this is me, fancy a date?" introduction chat. It's both utterly cringe and downright disturbing.

I don't think in the history of sex has a woman responded with "oh now I've seen your knob and you've told me you'll make me choke on it, let's skip the date and go straight to marriage please!"

Shockedandsickened · 22/04/2019 16:24

That stepdaughter thing above sickened me to the core. If this relationship I'm in doesn't work out which looks a little likely, I'm staying fucking single! I have a daughter.

OP posts:
WeRiseUp · 22/04/2019 16:26

The thing I can't help wondering is if it is about their actual daughter but they say 'step' to avoid being shopped to the police.

Shockedandsickened · 22/04/2019 16:32

May well be. I'm so sickened by men at present. I know not are all like this, but it's impossible to tell the good from the very dangerous. Even if they didn't act on these fantasies it's just too abhorrent for words. Imagine the man you love nursing these kinds of disgusting fantasies. I really am considering a single life forever.

OP posts:
HollowTalk · 22/04/2019 16:35

I would never have lived with a man while my children were in their teens. I knew a couple of cases where it went disastrously wrong.

HollowTalk · 22/04/2019 16:35

Other than their father, I mean.

WeRiseUp · 22/04/2019 16:47

It's probably worth disguising the fact you have kids on any dating profiles to guard against predators.

RosaWaiting · 22/04/2019 22:41

OP " I know not are all like this, but it's impossible to tell the good from the very dangerous"

yep. I'm single and very glad of it, for all kinds of reasons, but often forget that it's safer this way!

Lula1998 · 23/04/2019 01:18

I believe incest themes are pretty much mainstream in porn now. Pornographers know that porn is a drug, which is why they're raking it in. But punters get desensitized, bored, To maintain the stimulus, they have to push the limits right up to the boundaries of legality (probably sometimes inching beyond). Sorry, but the internet was a mistake. You can't just give humanity with all its warped and barbarous elements a global, anonymous network that allows them to publish, watch and say pretty much anything they like without consequences.

Lula1998 · 23/04/2019 01:36

7Days I complete agree. However philosopher Clive Hamilton is on the left and he argues convincingly against the taboo-busting side of the sexual revolution. This is worth reading.
