Stories of transwomen and their personal experiences of #inducinglactation!

I know this board has covered this before.

But GetBoober, a US-based organisation, whose apparent main objective is supporting mums who are needing support in getting breastfeeding established have recently tweeted this:

We loved reading Katelyn Burns article sharing anecdotal stories from three #transwomen and their personal experiences with #inducinglactation!
Katelyn does note that a lot of ways for trans women to induce lactation are still very experimental.

The article from Katelyn highlights three anecodtal stories of males keen to breastfeed their children.

Kaia, 30:
My wife and I have a really nice basis for comparison, because we went from two boobs to four boobs when I transitioned.

Including Brettany who is 56:
My body will never allow me to conceive and bear a child, and I've always wanted to at least be able to nurse one. That was the main motivation for this. The secondary motivation was that I wanted to bring my breasts to full maturity.

And Dr Laura, who is 68:

When I was in my late 50s, I decided that I was going to try this to see if I could do it. I underwent a drug regimen and used a breast pump fairly regularly. And gosh, within about a month, I guess, I was producing milk!

After I got to the point where I understood that I could lactate, I didn’t pursue it further — I didn’t have any need to maintain lactation. It’s a supply and demand sort of thing, so I stopped the medication and the pumping and of course I dried up. It was just super, super neat.

I think it strongly reinforced my sense of womanhood. I had some great inner satisfaction in knowing that I could do what a cisgender woman could. It was very important to me, and I’m proud and happy that I did that.

My only thought on this is - where are the children, the babies, centrered in this narcisstic objective? I'm trying to find a similar analogy to this - transwomen trying a touch of endometriosis, or a touch of ovarian cancer? A bit of mastisis? A sense of womanhood through PND? (Though I'm sure somone will find someone claiming it under the trans-umbrella)

Actually, I had another thought. GetBoober what the fuck are you doing?

This worries me a lot. I think there is a small but significant group of transwomen who have a sexual fixation on feeding actual babies.

I have thought long and hard about posting those links as the vast majority of people using that site seem like lovely, genuine people. In fact I first came across it when googling about transwomen competing as women in sports and was pleasantly surprised to see very open and honest debate about the ethics of it (for example.

However, there seems a big split on that site between the transsexual/gender non-conforming/dysmorphic majority and the fetishists.

Reading this while breastfeeding. What even is the stuff that’s being produced? Has anyone analysed it? Breastmilk changes constantly to suit the baby’s needs. Colostrum is full of antibodies, milk contains more water on hot days to keep baby hydrated, it’s amazing.
I had a local anaesthetic a few weeks ago and my baby had different colour poo and this happens occasionally after I’ve had the odd paracetamol. I don’t drink often but if I’ve had one, my babies have all fussed at the breast if they’ve wanted a feed before its worked its way out of my system. It changes taste according to what you’ve eaten and constantly changes to meet the nutritional needs of your baby. How can some artificially produced secretion be anything close to breast milk?

Notevenmyrealname · 21/04/2019 04:05

Just read one of the threads posted by SockEatingMonster and nowhere does anyone ask how nutritious the secretions are for the baby. It just seems to that their breast produce a white substance and now they must force feed it to a baby. Selfish idiots.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 21/04/2019 04:59

Disturbing. Are they really trying to donate to a milk bank?
Ugh. Leave women and babies alone. Please.

FannyCann · 21/04/2019 05:04

This makes me so angry.
What do the mothers of these babies think they are doing, enabling this fetish? Shame on any medical professional involved along the way, prescribing the drugs or being involved with the child's health/paediatrician/health visitor.

But I think a lot of this is fantasy. Anyone who has breastfed will have had experience of an upset baby, rooting furiously and not fixing on the offered nipple, screaming and going rigid with frustration while an engorged breast leaks onto them. I just don't believe these narcissists are capable of dealing with a baby that instinctively knows this is not what it wants and I'm pretty sure babies will not be impressed by what's on offer.

WeRiseUp · 21/04/2019 10:59

Seen I got a deletion for saying it is child abuse for adults to bring children into their fetish life. Confused

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 21/04/2019 11:38

I got deleted elsewhere for asking why men aren’t in need of education with reference to personages presenting in female form with a willy who want to use the lavatorial facilities generally set aside solely for use by the male of the human species.

There are some weirdos snitching around here these days. Can’t even call a space a bloody spade.
