Times subscriber benefits

Like many on here I now have a Times subscription to enable me to read their rent coverage.
I feel the subscriber benefits need tweaking for my demographic though. I'm not about to take a cruise, as I have small DCs.
So I reckon they should offer:
Discounts on Adult Human Female t-shirts.
Feminist books for children (and adults).
Family holidays with gender critical talks.
I'm on board with the cases of wine though!

Indeed. I enter the competitions and am considering the 25% off tickets for one of the Dogfest events but yes to the above.

*excellent not rent!

Subscriber benefits? I’ve subscribed for a couple of years and never noticed this - doesn’t sound like I’ve been missing out though!

truthisarevolutionaryact · 13/04/2019 11:43

I've downloaded a couple of the e books. It's worth taking a look - I get a monthly email each time they release new benefits.

Stephthefilterking73 · 13/04/2019 18:50

Apologies for being lazy. Does anyone know the cost of a subscription?

OhHolyJesus · 13/04/2019 18:51

I got a £3 for 3 months I think then it's £26 a month so I'll cancel before then.

Stephthefilterking73 · 13/04/2019 19:00

That must inc the Sunday Times or its cheaper to buy the paper!

Brighterf · 13/04/2019 19:05

It's super cheap if you have a student card (or access to an ac.uk email address I'd guess). About £26 per year. You can share access with 5 devices/other people. There's free diners club membership if you eat out, free movie download once a month and 2 for 1 Odeon cinema tickets and a great crossword.

I too joined in support of their coverage and made a point of telling them that when I subscribed.

Lamaha · 13/04/2019 19:11

I had the free trial and then called them up to cancel. The lady asked me why and I said financial reasons. She said would I be interested in half price subscription and I said yes. Then she asked if there was a particular reason why I read the Times and if I had any feedback. So I praised there gender critical coverage to the stars and she was delighted and said she'd pass it on to editorial! So it's worth calling them, getting a reduction, and giving feedback just to give them that word of encouragement.

Lamaha · 13/04/2019 19:11

their (and I got the half price subscription)

Stephthefilterking73 · 13/04/2019 19:19

Thanks for the advice. I've taken out a subscription. It's the least they deserve for their stance on gender ID. I'm hoping for a few good reads tomorrow morning!

Stephthefilterking73 · 13/04/2019 19:22

Brighterf I've always been a Telegraph crossword type. Just couldn't get the hang of the cryptic clues in the Times.

Brighterf · 13/04/2019 20:28

Stephthefilterking73 I agree, though the Times Quick Cryptic is definitely doable.

Stephthefilterking73 · 13/04/2019 20:39

Brighterf Not by me! Lol.

2rebecca · 13/04/2019 21:48

I subscribe online only. I maybe should look at getting it cheaper but am so pleased they and the Spectator are rocking the TRAs' boat I'm happy to pay a bit more to keep them doing it. They also give both sides of the Brexit debate although the Spectator is more proBrexit than I am.
The Guardian seemed objective and balanced when I was younger but now just seems to want to brainwash it's readers and is the least objective rag out there sadly. The sanctimonious smugness started to annoy me as well. Shame because I loved some of its journalists, especially on a Saturday and had been Guardian or nothing for years.

VortexofBloggery · 14/04/2019 08:50

You can get a "mobile phone" subscription for £8ish per month. Still get the "benefits" email with that.

sackrifice · 14/04/2019 09:00

Just couldn't get the hang of the cryptic clues in the Times.

My aunt and grandad used to do these and I was amazed at their brains being able to figure them all out when I was little.

starlingsintheslipstream · 14/04/2019 09:09

Before I binned off The Guardian I had a subscription that gave me online subscriber benefits but with vouchers for a print copy of the Saturday paper and The Observer. Do The Times have anything similar? I do like a proper paper at weekends.

Stephthefilterking73 · 14/04/2019 09:14

.....and just to prove nothing is ever easy the Sunday Times won't download to the iPad app. 😤

Guess I'll have to read it in a browser.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2019 09:20

That must inc the Sunday Times or its cheaper to buy the paper!

Yes, it does. Although for some reason I can't get the app version to download today - the browser is fine.
(Just noticed headline 'Greens ignored sex claims against deputy leader Will Duckworth' ... why aren't I surprised?)

I didn't know about the subscriber benefits, DH is our subscriber.

ErrolTheDragon · 14/04/2019 09:21

Oh, xpost re the app today. I don't think I've ever had that before. Must be their site.

EvaHarknessRose · 14/04/2019 13:23

You can go on The Times + part here www.mytimesplus.co.uk
