A man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 22 year old woman who has died after falling from a tower block.

and so much love for the brave women on this thread.

Sometimes I wish these things weren’t posted (Annabelle & all the other stories shared) , that I wasn’t aware of them so I could plod on with life without the burden of anger generated by the knowledge of women’s suffering. Then I remember that I am one of the fortunate ones and that it is so important for women both alive and sadly deceased to have some kind of a voice in this climate of misogyny and male violence.

I have a small amount of money coming in tomorrow, I too will donate.

How sad that we find it necessary to deem ourselves lucky to have not been assaulted or murdered.

I always question myself when I say ‘lucky’ or ‘fortunate’ not to have been beaten/assaulted/raped/murdered, it feels like the wrong word. I’d gratefully be informed of another?

Thing is, sometimes I hear stories like this perhaps I am one of the lucky ones because I have a very gentle and sympathetic father, a supportive and kind partner and that the worst I had was an ex partner addicted to porn.

I will also donate on pay day.

Personally I think if a group of women wanted to start a service that was mixed sex they should have done that, and bought their own houses to use as shelters.

Loki totally agree about conditioning. I wonder if there is a word that could be used instead of lucky which reflects acknowledgment of risk that will hopefully be avoided while being respectful of the many women suffering from the various types of male violence.

Another heartbreaking tragedy resulting in a woman’s loss of life allegedly because of a man.

BadPenny I couldn’t find that on their web site, I obviously wasn’t look in the right place.

My "Father" held me over a 5th floor balcony to control and abuse my Mother into continuing to do what he wanted. She was discussing leaving him with his sister and he came back early, and overheard. I was 3. I was so terrified. I still fear heights. And men, on the whole.
RIP that poor young woman

There have been at least two young women dying in this way in the last few years, Annabelle and 22 year old Jourdain John-Baptiste as I mentioned below. Jourdain's manslaughter case was shockingly rejected by a senior prosecutor at the CPS (after they had said they would prosecute) even though she and her boyfriend had been arguing immediately before and neighbours heard her screaming for help in terror. He had also sent threatening text messages earlier. The CPS made an unevidenced assumption that in her "emotional" state she had "slipped".

RIP Annabelle and Jourdain and to those who've shared their own stories here.

Still no justice and her clearly guilty boyfriend is a free man. That's the world we get to live in today! 🤦🤦‍♀️

Seeing as none of the public media outlets are allowed to name and shame the accused boyfriend but can plaster Annie's name everywhere (assuming that they know his name.) I'm just going to go ahead and Name and Shame the prick ex boyfriend for them, in Annie's loved memory!

So girls; Be on the lookout for THIS man. Do not get into a relationship with him. He is violent and will clearly not hesitate to use deadly force in a twisted, psychotic attempt to get his point across.
