How about a thread of places/orgs/people who have told GC women this/equivalents of this. In order that over time, we can go back to them and ask them if they still stand by their previous comments.

Does someone have that list/graphic of orgs blessed by Stonewall?

Retailers
Primark, Topshop (others?)
Primesight (for their cowardly actions re Posie's billboards)
Ocado (for their reaction to Primesight).

Membership organisations
Girl Guiding UK
British Gymnastics
Swim England

Venues - numerous but including
Swimming pools
Leisure centres
Gyms

Local Authorities and political orgs
Those who refused to host or cancelled Women's Place (and similar) meetings
Greens
Labour
WEP
LibDems

Charities
NSPCC
Comic Relief
Pride organisations
(I am not bothering with stonewall, mermaids etc, they are beneath contempt)

There's some zealotry and stupidity that I really can't be buggered to engage with.

Yes, all the above need to justify their choices in the light of today's whistleblowing.

BadPennyNoBiscuit · 08/04/2019 21:07

The facts speak for themselves.

Women have been contacting their local NHS to check they record our sex, not or gender; because its an essential thing to know when it comes to medical care.

Ditto local councils, our protected characteristic is 'sex', not that you'd know that from looking at local council websites.
As for womens studies in universities, they are now a thing of the past. They've been replaced by gender studies.

MsMcWoodle · 08/04/2019 21:13

It's a big old list. I'm boycotting so many shops and places now I'm actually quite well off.
I'd start with the politicians though. Penny Mordaunt would be top of the list. Then Jeremy Corbyn,

PurpleCrowbar · 08/04/2019 21:36

Yes. These are all organisations which need holding to account.

Good list.

littlbrowndog · 08/04/2019 21:40

Traitor and taking salary for not caring about women. Mordaunt

littlbrowndog · 08/04/2019 21:41

You seen the times today skyz?

TheBullshitGoesOn · 08/04/2019 21:43

Don't forget the BBC.

Or are they also beneath contempt.

littlbrowndog · 08/04/2019 21:43

And considering the recent reports about gender pay gap. Where’s them big companies on that

littlbrowndog · 08/04/2019 21:44

And intersex people have asked time and again to leave them ou5 of it

ADropofReality · 08/04/2019 23:19

@Skyzalimit

No-one is erasing, as that link says, trans people. No-one, as the phrase goes, "denies their existence". Riley J. Dennis for example, is real and plainly exists. We just deny Riley J. Dennis is a woman. Riley J. Dennis' penis and XY chromosomes make that denial biological reality. Address that instead of your strawman, eh?

the NHS

Thank you for the reminder that the serious issues with the NHS are yet to be addressed.

They were ALWAYS based upon 'gender'.
The evidence is in NHS documents from 2010.
And the Department of Health were told, by the NHS team, not to tell people wards were segregated by sex, because they knew the policy was based on gender.

But the DOH purposefully used the word sex to the public instead.

We've been deliberately misled."

Questions are outstanding with regards Andrew Landsley and subsequent Ministers for Health.

Flowers for Anne Harper Wright's excellent work.

That'll be regulatory capture that Skyzalimit is hugging themselves with glee about. While state sanctioned child experimentation hits the headlines, exposed by clinicians who could no longer go along with it.

Just to, you know, add context to any passing lurkers who might wonder what is going on with Skyzalimit.

I'd say certain 'academic' institutions should probably be less pleased with their part in this being focused on.

Accenture

Accenture being the business which informed the City of London Police that a small group of lesbians and other women who were sitting on chairs were causing 'anti social behaviour' leading to 7 Police Officers & Accenture Security guards forcibly removing them from a recent inclusive LGBT+ event.

Awesome list thanks to everyone who has contributed, even if they were shooting themselves in the foot while trying to scathingly cut me down Wink

Any more for any more welcome!

StopFundingHate actually promoted hate towards women by conflating feminists asking for single sex schools with right wing views

R0wantrees · 09/04/2019 10:33

So you are listing organisations that think you're wrong? Why?! That makes you look even wronger!

Here let me help you:
my local authority

Skyzalimit makes an important point that there are still Councils & Local Authorities who have incorrect Diversity/Inclusion policies. All Diversity & Inclusion policies (public & private sector) will be based on the 2010 Equality Act as explained by WPUK:

"Sex is a protected characteristic
The Equality Act (2010) identifies 9 protected characteristics.

They are

age
disability
gender reassignment
marriage & civil partnership
pregnancy & maternity
religion or belief
race
sex
sexual orientation
These protected characteristics exist to ensure that everyone is treated equally and fairly and to guard against discrimination.

It is important that these protected characteristics are correctly listed yet lots of councils incorrectly list gender instead of sex.

This is incorrect.

For more details and guidance on the Equality Act 2010 see here

All public authorities have a duty to consider or think about how their policies or decisions affect people who are protected under the Equality Act. A failure to list sex suggests, at the very least, ignorance of the law which may well lead to such authorities failing to uphold the rights of this protected characteristic properly.

We are therefore asking everyone to check the policies of their local council to see if they are compliant with the Equality Act. If not, please write to them and ask them to make the necessary corrections.

Even if they seem to be compliant on one page, it may be worth writing to ask them to check they are compliant across all their policies as several councils have different terms on different pages.

There should be a contact email on the website.

We have managed to get lots of councils to make the corrections as well as the Welsh Government site. However, we are discovering that many other organisations are also wrongly citing gender as a protected characteristic including OFSTED and the EHRC itself! Please see our statement on this here.

You should feel free to adapt the letter below for any organisation you come across who is not compliant with equality law." (continues with model letter to assist Local Authority to have Equality Act 2010 compliant policies)
womansplaceuk.org/sex-is-a-protected-characteristic/

A simple letter or short email / Twitter exchange is usually sufficient fr the organisation, school, council, business, charity etc to correct their policy.
It is in the vast majority of cases an error made in good faith by c&p from a trusted source.

Except of course Cambridge Council where EqAct 2010 was deliberated misrepresented by Cllr Sarah Brown (Stonewall & LibDems)

Please don't use the word 'wronger'
It's just so wrong.

Joisanofthedales · 09/04/2019 17:12

Amnesty for hypocrisy over single sex / mixed sex toilets

TheBullshitGoesOn · 09/04/2019 22:44

Also, I think:
YHA
Caledonian Sleeper
The Guardian
Children In Need

Skyzalimit · 09/04/2019 23:03

My point was that it is immensely hubristic to persist in justifying these views in the face of the policies designed and agreed by all these organisations. Many have acres of expertise, research, evidence and education in the areas under discussion.
