It's abusive and can cause permanent damage. So what do binders do??

"This idea that staff are being advised to look out for the signs of breast ironing amongst one certain demographic of student, whilst also being told that they need to support breast binding, which will largely be amongst an entirely different demographic of pupil."

This is brilliantly put. It would be funny if it wasn't so damn scary.

You know what? I really hope some teacher somewhere has the sense to ask the question.

I'm also a bit concerned that publicity to highlight the dangers of the practice to reduce or prevent its
practice for one group of girls may be signalling to another unintentionally promoting it as an alternative to binding

I was coming on to start a thread about this rank hypocrisy from the BBC and UK gov.

I am really glad if this gets something done about breast ironing though. Jesus.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a govt campaign that reinstated for all parents that everyone in organisations -backed up by the criminal law -is committed to safeguarding their daughters from sexual abuse from men? And here’s all the preventative measures they will use to stop men doing this etc.
