You had one job on International Woman's Day - to raise awareness and reflect on the attitudes and unfair treatment meted out to the female sex. You could have pointed to the epidemic of violent crimes against them, or the way society would cease to function without their role as carers of children, dependents and the frail elderly.

Instead, you chose to diminish them. You chose to draw attention to people who are not female and suffer none of the disadvantages that go with being a girl and a woman.

Save your homilies for International Trans Day, the Trans Day of Remembrance and Trans Health Week. Give us back OUR day or feck the feck off.

That's a really good, honest answer!

Thank you for supporting women, i.e. all adult human females. I agree there is still such a way to go before we are rid of sexist gender stereotypes that harm us all (albeit in different ways). My heart goes out to women all round the world who are victims of sex based oppression or unconscious bias.

That’s the safe reply I’ve gone for based on a posters.

Not sure what difference it makes apart from making me feel better for speaking out.

Let’s see how or if it escalates.
