any chance of a summary of objections to Stonewall in terms I can share with the school?

Hi there,

So I'm still wondering whether to speak to the overworked teachers about the school being a stonewall fundraiser and "champion"

If anyone has the time/patience to offer any objections I could make to an extremely busy person who doesn't need the hassle (!) I'd be grateful.

My starting point is that Stonewall has changed enormously since gay marriage was legalised and is now principally focussed on transgender rights but refuses to recognise the obvious conflict with women's rights nor the dangers inherent in gamourising transition to children. But that's not evidence. that's just me saying it.

I think Stonewall do some great work. Everyone is exceptionally critical on here.

Stonewall has openly appointed someone to an advisory position who has admitted to knowingly employing a paedophile who is now imprisoned for 22 years for child rape. This person has been found by an independent enquiry to not understand safeguarding. Yet Stonewall chose to employ them in a position where they can influence practice in schools.

Just think about that for a moment.

@truthisarevolutionaryact wha?????

I have my own thread at the moment about withdrawing DD from school for LGBTQ+ week. Their material has come from stonewall and the pride trust mainly. Apart from the lesbophobia I didn't know anything else to stress my point that they are an unsuitable organisation to be advising schools.

Ahhh the chanellors. Also see ‘trans umbrella’ and general anti lesbian sentiment.

And their lack of understanding about the widely recognised instigator the stonewall riots (damn those pesky lesbians).

I think they saw it as an act of "trans solidarity" when the person was under scrutiny. Those of us with experience of safeguarding know that it is an act that would (for a school or other reputable organisation) bring in the inspectorate to assess their suitability to work children. Sadly the trans whitewash appears to be spread so thickly that an outrageous act like this from an organisation that positions themselves to work in and with schools is ignored.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 14/03/2019 20:50

Safeguarding of children goes out of the window when it comes to ‘safeguarding’ of trans. It really is ‘don’t mention the war’ when it comes to criticism.

Don’t get me started on the Scotland fiasco.

They actively campaign for the removal of single-sex exemptions in the equality act. A real concern for the safety, dignity and privacy of women and girls:

very helpful, thank you.

"They actively campaign for the removal of single-sex exemptions in the equality act. A real concern for the safety, dignity and privacy of women and girls"

apart from anything else this is a political position not a charitable one.

also a good point that they have done great work in the past

I think their non tolerance of dissent is a real problem too.

Another good thing to read is general timeline and replies to @AnthonyWatson
Lots of useful context there - once you wade through the misguided arselicking, of course.
