Completely missing the conflict of rights and concerns of many in the LGBT community and pouring fuel on the fire as usual.

Cheers Stonewall.

those who oppose trans equality do not represent us

great. they don't represent me either

Or did stonewall mean trans supremacy?

ToeToToe · 14/03/2019 13:45

Oh, oh, but I thought having articles in the Daily Mail made you "far right" ?

That's what women keep being called - FPFW, A Woman's Place, Martina, Sharron Davies were called a "far-right fascists" after articles appeared in the DM Hmm

It's obviously ok when Stonewall do it.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 14/03/2019 13:46

we are united in our desire to create a world where we can be free to be ourselves

what if 'yourself' is a vicious misogynist who actively wants to roll back women's rights and freedoms and / or roll back safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults?

because I'm not sure we should be encouraging those people to be their authentic selves

EweSurname · 14/03/2019 13:52

Rachel McKinnon did an interview with Fox and the silence, particularly in comparison to when Julia Beck went on, was stark.

Needmoresleep · 14/03/2019 14:04

To "L" with the "cis-women".

At what point will Stonewall realise that using a phrase that is offensive to many women suggests a real double standard. Presumably at the point when they start using "cis-men" and piss off another 49.5% of the population.

Shrinking your constituency does not seem like a good move for an organisation that makes its buck by being an expert on diversity and inclusion. Not least as they to also be excluding a good proportion of non-TRA transpeople as well.

I wonder how they are getting on in finding a new CE.

ThePurportedDoctoress · 14/03/2019 14:05

'Together we will win this fight.’

The fight to remove legal protections for the rights and dignity of women?

BickerinBrattle · 14/03/2019 14:08

If they want to create a world in which they can be free to be themselves, why are they not putting any effort into creating their own spaces in which they can be free to be themselves?

For instance, as women did.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 14/03/2019 14:13

Stonewall seem to be at a loss of what to do next don't they.

Together we will win this fight

or:
Under our rule, on our terms peace will reign, our oppressed people will rise.

PleaseSpeak · 14/03/2019 14:15

*why are they not putting any effort into creating their own spaces in which they can be free to be themselves?

For instance, as women did.*

A thousand times this.

ThePurportedDoctoress · 14/03/2019 14:16

Has Stonewall trademarked the 'L' and the 'G'?

LangCleg · 14/03/2019 14:32

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Next up: the Heritage Foundation host a Stonewall panel.

Katvonfelttipeyebrows · 14/03/2019 14:36

Anthony Watson is tweeting about that campaign. There's list of gay men who support it.

Id be interested to know if any of them have actually had a trans man as a partner? Or does their support merely stretch to thinking biological males should be allowed in female spaces?

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 14/03/2019 14:41

Seems a bit desperate to me. The letter is full of straw men. This is a favourite tactic of Stonewall with phrases such as ‘those who oppose trans equality’ which allows virtue signallers such as our Emma to sign up without needing to think too hard about what they are signing up to.

I’m not against trans equality either if that means treating everyone with dignity and respect no matter how they choose to represent themselves. I am against a law that allows a man to access women’s spaces and compete unfairly in women’s sports just because they declare they feel they are women. This is because women have rights too. I am against a concept called ‘gender identity’ which has no basis in law, has no biological evidence base that it exists, is dependent on a feeling which is unprovable and unquantifiable replacing biological sex which is proven and legally recognised in important areas such as crime recording.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 14/03/2019 14:45

So where is the heterosexual male equivalent of the cotton ceiling? Why aren’t Stonewall encouraging men to sleep with trans women including those with male genitalia? The silence is deafening - and speaks to the unpleasant misogyny that underlies this ideology.

BigGoat · 14/03/2019 14:49

My God. If I was fucking gay, I'd be convinced the Russians have taken over Stonewall to blast away all the gains of the last 50 years..

Seriously, they are alienating their base, actual same sex attracted people.

They have been openly hateful towards Lesbians, for being who they flaming are; women who love other women.

They are openly hateful of women in general, and actively campaign against our sex based rights so men in dresses can engage in sexual make believe in our changing rooms.

The only good in this, is that their twitter feed is full of push back.

TowelNumber42 · 14/03/2019 14:51

It is pretty clear that being homosexual while living in a homophobic environment drives rather a lot of transition. You'd expect Stonewall to be investigating and campaigning hard to keep transactivism away from children who might be gay. Apparently not.

Seadragonusgiganticusmaximus · 14/03/2019 14:54

So where is the heterosexual male equivalent of the cotton ceiling?

Perhaps it could be callled the Y-front curtain

BigGoat · 14/03/2019 14:54

Katvon, only a sub-sample of gay men support the T.

They support it in so far as hot guys can look hot in dresses and it broadens the range of kink they can engage in.

They also support it, cause its nice to be able to hate on people (women) when you've been a victim of hate (homophobia) yourself.

Alas, they dont support it cause they give a toss about people with GD (but its always nice to engage in a bit of virtue signalling).

Needmoresleep · 14/03/2019 14:54

Perhaps they have realised no one reads the Guardian any more.

Seadragonusgiganticusmaximus · 14/03/2019 14:55

Or the boxer-short barrier

Fuckedoffaboutit · 14/03/2019 15:22

Have you seen the GwiththeT campaign running - quite a few signing in support.

I have to say v disappointed.

TowelNumber42 · 14/03/2019 15:25

Datalounge members have rather a lot to say about the male equivalent of the cotton ceiling actually. Mainly around protection of women. They reckon transmen on Grindr are at serious risk of getting battered. They also find it irritating when transmen try to connect with exclusively gay men. Their phrasing would definitely get them banned from MN
